Mourinho's statement causes controversy in Türkiye

Jose Mourinho continues to cause a stir in Türkiye with a sarcastic explanation of his starting lineup selection for Fenerbahce.

This time, he became the center of attention of Turkish football again after sharing in a press conference about Fenerbahce's "method" of selecting the starting lineup.

The Portuguese tactician, after a 4-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir in the Super Lig, which helped Fenerbahce continue to chase Galatasaray, explained the issue at a press conference.

While speaking to the media after Fenerbahce's convincing win, a journalist asked Mourinho about his constant changes to the starting lineup.

“You have used different formations in 31 matches, what is the reason for this constant change?” , the journalist asked the coach who won 2 Champions Leagues.

Mourinho is known for his blunt and shocking answers, offering a sarcastic explanation of his method of selecting players for his first team.

“I have 25 coins and I toss them in the air. The ones that fall on the table are the starting players. The ones that fall on the ground are the substitutes,” he said with a smile.

Not stopping there, Mourinho continued to make another shocking statement about the criteria for choosing the squad:

“I also go to bars on the weekends and enjoy myself. That's how I pick my starting lineup . ”

Mourinho is nearing the end of his first season with Fenerbahce, having taken charge of 52 games since arriving in Istanbul.

The achievements of the "Special One" are 32 wins in all competitions (nearly 70%), 12 draws and 8 losses.

During his time in Turkish football , Mourinho was punished several times for his statements or actions. Some Fenerbahce fans even protested against him and called for the club to sack him.
