
Qualcomm: A trusted companion of Vietnamese technology
Qualcomm's role in developing Vietnam's technology ecosystem is increasingly affirmed. Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of VDCA, highly appreciated: "Qualcomm is always at the forefront of integrating edge computing and AI technologies into devices from mobile to industrial, from smart cities to healthcare and many other important industries".

Qualcomm's long-term investment commitment in Vietnam is demonstrated by the establishment of the first R&D Center in Southeast Asia right in Hanoi since 2020. Mr. Thieu Phuong Nam, General Director of Qualcomm Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia emphasized: "The combination of edge AI and cloud AI creates instant data processing capabilities, helping to improve response speed, enhance security and optimize infrastructure costs".
The timing of the event is particularly important as Vietnam is actively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation". The cooperation between VDCA and Qualcomm, along with Qualcomm Vietnam becoming a Senior Member of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, has established a solid foundation for the development of the domestic technology ecosystem.
"Make in Vietnam" products on the world's leading technology platform
The most notable highlight at the conference was the introduction of an offline artificial voice solution, the result of cooperation between Vbee AI - the leading unit in text-to-speech technology in Vietnam and HSPTek, built on Qualcomm hardware platform.
Vbee and HSPTek have made a significant step forward by optimizing Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology, which usually requires a stable Internet connection, to operate smoothly on a compact AI Box device. It only takes 17 seconds to process, and the product can completely synthesize a 90-second speech - 5 times faster than the average human reading speed.

This result not only demonstrates the excellent processing capabilities of Qualcomm hardware but also demonstrates the talent of the Vietnamese engineering team in optimizing AI models. The incredible performance achieved by the system is convincing evidence of the potential of domestic AI technology, opening up opportunities for wide application from education, healthcare to manufacturing and public services.
The combination of Vbee AI and HSPTek at the conference is not only meaningful in terms of technology but also the result of long-term vision, sustainable research investment and an increasingly strong innovation ecosystem in Vietnam - where policy, business and technology are combining to create practical value.
QVIC: A Solid Foundation for Nurturing Tech Talent
The Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge (QVIC) program has affirmed its position as an important pillar of the Vietnamese technology startup ecosystem. Launched annually since 2019 with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, QVIC has nurtured many startups in key areas such as 5G, IoT, AI, machine learning, smart cities, and smart agriculture.
After nearly two decades of presence in Vietnam, Qualcomm and QVIC not only celebrate the spirit of innovation but also inspire the entire Vietnamese business community. Each year, the program selects the Top 10 outstanding Start-ups to provide financial support and participate in incubation activities for 6 months.
The May 27 conference went beyond the meaning of a professional event on AI and computing. This is a symbolic milestone for the fusion of global technology and the aspiration to develop Vietnam's domestic technology capacity. Vietnamese enterprises, typically represented by Vbee, have demonstrated their ability to master technology, turning AI applications into practical realities, close to daily life.
