According to The Athletic , Ipswich allowed Delap to fly to Manchester to negotiate with the Old Trafford team. The "Red Devils" convinced the young striker about the team's development vision in the context of coach Ruben Amorim needing a new striker in the summer of 2025.

The 22-year-old striker is a top target for MU after scoring 12 goals in the Premier League this season, despite his club being relegated. However, MU has not officially submitted a transfer request as they focus on the Europa League final on May 22.
