MU creates fever in Malaysia

Malaymail reported that more than 1,000 fans turned up for an intimate gathering at a shopping mall in Malaysia. The event attracted several key first-team players, including captain Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte, Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho, Harry Amass and Kobbie Mainoo.

The atmosphere at the meeting became lively when Malaysian fans sang in unison the team's famous chants such as "Glory Glory Man United", "Bruno Bruno Bruno" and "Viva Garnacho".

Although the "Red Devils" only finished the 2024/25 season in 15th place in the Premier League rankings, the team was still warmly welcomed by fans.

In a press conference on May 27, coach Ruben Amorim affirmed that MU always plays with great responsibility: "Every match we play has millions of fans watching. That makes us have to show respect and play with dedication, no matter what the match is. It's great to see the love of fans for MU, even in difficult seasons."

The Star reported that around 70,000 fans are expected to attend the Bukit Jalil Stadium to watch the match between Manchester United and the ASEAN All-Stars on the night of May 28. Cheras District Police Chief Aidil Bolhassan said all entrances to the stadium will be opened from 5.30pm, and security measures will be tightened before and after entering the stadium to ensure the match goes smoothly.

The last time MU played in Malaysia was during the 2009 pre-season. The "Red Devils" won 2 matches against the Malaysian National Championship's All-Star Team with scores of 3-2 and 2-0.

After the match against ASEAN All-Stars, MU will continue to face Hong Kong on May 30.
