According to information from the Ha Tinh Hydrometeorological Station, the wet and cold weather will last for many days to come, with air humidity remaining at 80-90%. This makes washing and drying thick clothes, blankets, sheets made of wool, felt, felt, etc. take a lot of time. Therefore, laundry shops with diverse services: dry cleaning, steam ironing, industrial drying, etc. have become the address of many people.

For the past two weeks, the Khuong Van industrial laundry shop on Nguyen Huy Tu Street (Thanh Sen Ward) has been overloaded. Ms. Tran Thi Thuy - the store manager said: "The rainy weather has caused the demand for laundry to increase 3-4 times compared to normal days. Although we have invested in 2 industrial washing machines and 10 household washing machines, the store still cannot meet the demand."

To meet the soaring demand from customers, the store had to mobilize more relatives to help, working in shifts from early morning until late at night. The washing machines and dryers worked almost non-stop, continuously spinning day and night. “Some days the orders piled up so much, we had to stay up until after midnight to deliver the items to customers on time,” said Ms. Thuy.

Laundry shops recorded a 3-4 times increase in customers.

Despite the large number of customers, the store staff still have to ensure that each product is cleaned and kept safe. “After receiving the items, we separate colored and white clothes, and write down the customer's name to avoid confusion. Clothes with "stubborn" stains will be hand-washed before being put into the machine. After washing, the clothes are dried in a specialized dryer. For special clothes such as leather, felt, feathers, etc., the store uses a separate dry cleaning machine to preserve the material," Ms. Thuy added.

According to the market, despite the high demand, most laundry shops still maintain stable prices. Depending on whether customers choose wet cleaning - steam ironing or dry cleaning - steam ironing, the price will be different. For example, men's/women's vests cost from 60,000 - 80,000 VND/piece; jackets, sweaters, down jackets, suede jackets cost from 50,000 - 60,000 VND/piece; blankets, sheets from 60,000 - 90,000 VND/piece; regular clothes cost on average from 15,000 - 20,000 VND/kg.

Also in an overloaded state, the high-end laundry shop 360 on Tran Phu Street (Thanh Sen Ward) owned by Ms. Truong Thi Thien is also bustling with customers, a "lifesaver" for many neighboring households, especially office workers and renters who do not have space to dry their clothes.

Ms. Thien invested in many modern equipment to serve the laundry work.

To better serve her customers, Ms. Thien has boldly invested in more modern equipment such as: industrial washing machines, high-capacity dryers and high-end blanket presses... Normally, she proactively delivers goods to customers on the same day, but during rainy and humid seasons, for clothing orders that need to be thoroughly laundered, she often makes an appointment for customers to return the order the next morning.

In rural areas, the demand for laundry and drying services has also increased. Many stores in Cam Xuyen district have recorded double the number of customers using laundry and drying services compared to normal days.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh (teacher of Hoa Sen Kindergarten, Cam Xuyen Commune) said that she often uses laundry services at stores near her house, on average 2-3 times a week. However, with the current rainy and humid weather, she has to take her clothes to the laundry every day because the clothes take a long time to dry and smell, which can affect her health.

"Wet, cold rain creates favorable conditions for germs and bacteria to grow, potentially causing respiratory diseases. Therefore, to protect the health of my family and relatives, I bring thick, slow-drying clothes to the laundry, which helps keep the clothes fragrant and avoids bacteria that affect health," said Ms. Anh.

Not only are laundry shops “busy”, the clothes dryer market is also “heating up” day by day. The prolonged rainy and humid weather has prompted many people to proactively invest in dryers for long-term use.

Electronics and refrigeration stores sell dry cleaners and dryers.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa, an employee of Hong Ha Trading Joint Stock Company (Thanh Sen Ward) shared: “These days, the number of customers looking to buy dry cleaning machines and dryers has increased significantly. Many people prioritize choosing dryers with moderate capacity, reasonable price, easy to use and energy saving. The wet weather is prolonged, and the cold winter is about to begin, so investing in a dryer is considered an economical , convenient and long-term solution for families.”

The fact that people proactively choose laundry services or equip themselves with dryers at home not only helps their daily lives go smoothly, but also reflects their ability to quickly adapt to adverse weather conditions. Thanks to that, the pace of life in the rainy season is still maintained stably. At the same time, it creates motivation for laundry shops to upgrade their services, expand their scale, and better meet the increasing needs of customers.
