Overcoming harsh weather, maintaining construction of power grid infrastructure projects

Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Electricity Company Nguyen Duy Thang inspected the progress of the project to build and renovate medium-voltage and low-voltage lines and transformer stations to prevent overload, reduce power loss, and reduce the power supply radius in Can Loc district (old).

For many months now, the continuous unfavorable weather, storms, and heavy rains have made the construction of the project to renovate medium-voltage and low-voltage lines and transformer stations to prevent overload, reduce power loss, and reduce the power supply radius in Can Loc district (old) in Dong Loc commune difficult. This is one of 9 overload prevention projects invested by Ha Tinh Electricity Company, to build and renovate 8,513 km of medium-voltage lines, 8,928 km of low-voltage lines, and 5 overload prevention transformer stations. After completion, the project will share the load with the power supply from the old transformer station in 5 communes: Dong Loc, Tung Loc, Gia Hanh, Truong Loc, and Xuan Loc to prevent overload, improve the reliability of power supply to serve the daily needs as well as production and business of people and enterprises.

Since the morning of November 6, the rain has just eased, MES Electromechanical Co., Ltd. (the construction unit) has mobilized workers to return to the construction site, concentrating on machinery to complete the maximum volume. Mr. Le Hoang Lam - Quang Tri Electrical Industry Consulting Company said: "The project started construction on August 22, and has now reached 50% of the volume. As soon as the rain eased, the construction teams immediately started the work of dropping the foundation and erecting the columns. We are always on site, supervising the construction according to the design documents; at the same time, complying with labor safety procedures and construction quality. If there is no heavy rain, the teams will still maintain maximum progress, striving to hand over and turn on the power before November 15."

According to the Project Management Board of Ha Tinh Electricity Company, although there have been many changes due to the conversion of the 2-level local government model, the localities have coordinated with the unit to carry out propaganda and mobilize the people well, completing site clearance, ensuring 100% of the construction site. This is not only an important solution to help speed up the project progress but also creates consensus and trust of the people in accompanying the project to develop the power grid infrastructure.

On the morning of November 7, the weather in Son Giang commune was less rainy, so contractors took the opportunity to transport equipment to the construction site.

The reduced rain also created favorable conditions for the project of Construction and renovation of medium-voltage and low-voltage lines and transformer stations to prevent overload, reduce power loss, reduce the power supply radius in the old Huong Son district area, gather materials, and prepare for construction. The project passes through 5 communes (new administrative units): Huong Son, Son Giang, Son Kim 1, Son Tay and Tu My. The project invested 1.98 km of medium-voltage lines, 7.08 km of low-voltage lines and 5 transformer stations.

Mr. Dau Khac Sy - Construction Team Leader (Dat Viet Construction Joint Stock Company ( Nghe An ) said: "In 2 days (November 5-6), we focused on gathering 100% of equipment and electric poles to the construction site. Although the weather was still rainy, the amount of rain had decreased so it did not affect the construction work too much. On the morning of November 7, the teams mobilized cranes and machinery to distribute materials to the location, dug the ground to bury the pile foundations. With the spirit of making the most of time, we strived to maintain the construction pace, and at the same time implemented a rolling plan, casting the column foundations and completing the beams as they were cast, ensuring completion according to the schedule before November 15".

Along with the overload prevention project, at this time, Ha Tinh Electricity Company is also focusing on directing the urgent construction of key projects with the spirit of "overcoming difficulties, reaching the finish line early". In particular, the project of upgrading the 110kV Hong Linh - Linh Cam line is meeting the progress according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. After completion, the project will ensure safe and stable power supply for key loads in the area, improving voltage quality.

Currently, the company is managing 80 construction investment projects with a total investment of VND 1,259,091 billion, including 22 transitional projects, 48 projects assigned in 2025 and 10 projects temporarily assigned in 2026. Up to this point, 11 transitional projects have been finalized, 9 projects have completed construction; for projects assigned in 2025, 10 projects have been finalized, 7 projects have been completed and 10 projects are under construction, the remaining projects are in the process of completing investment preparation.

These projects are not only the electricity industry's solution to improve the reliability of electricity supply, meet the electricity needs of people and businesses, and prevent grid overload, but also a "preemptive" step to create a solid energy infrastructure foundation, serving socio-economic development and attracting investment in the area.

In light rain conditions, the construction unit will take advantage of digging and burying foundations and erecting columns so as not to greatly affect the construction of the entire project.

Despite the complicated weather, the units still strive to overcome difficulties, take advantage of time and reasonable construction solutions to complete on schedule. From now until the end of the year, we continue to direct the project management board to closely follow the progress, urge to speed up construction with the spirit of construction as soon as the site is available, striving to complete 100% of the overload prevention project before November 15. At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle problems so as not to affect the progress of the projects".

According to the Project Management Board of Ha Tinh Power Company, in recent times, with the close direction of the Company's Board of Directors, the Management Board has closely coordinated with local authorities to vigorously implement site clearance work, ensuring the progress of key projects. Many difficulties and problems related to the route corridor, land, and crops of the people have been promptly resolved thanks to the consensus and support of the Party Committee, authorities and people in the areas where the project passes through.

Along with that, the Management Board has focused on urging contractors to speed up construction progress, increase human resources, equipment, work overtime and on weekends to compensate for time affected by weather and other objective factors. All stages from survey, design, material supply to construction supervision are carried out seriously, ensuring quality, safety and compliance with technical standards.
