After an early screening night (August 21) and the end of the first official screening day (August 22), the movie "Red Rain" earned 38 billion VND according to Box Office Vietnam statistics.

If it maintains its current growth momentum, the film could surpass the 100 billion mark in revenue faster than “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark,” and even surpass its overall revenue.

On the first night alone, the Army Cinema film earned 20 billion VND, including pre-booked tickets for the following days. The occupancy rate at some central cinema complexes was high, in some places more than 80%.

According to Moveek statistics, “Red Rain” has no formidable opponents from now until the end of the National Day holiday (August 30 - September 2). And if
Maintaining the current growth momentum, the film could reach the 100 billion VND mark sooner than its "rival" "Tunnel."

Some observers believe that the film will earn 150 billion VND after its first week of release, and eventually reach 300 billion VND.

Previously, the movie “Tunnel” was shown early on the evenings of April 2 and 3, then officially premiered on April 4. After more than a week, on the evening of April 10, the movie reached 100 billion VND according to statistics from Box Office Vietnam.

With positive word-of-mouth effects, director Bui Thac Chuyen’s film continued to increase its revenue and surpassed the 170 billion VND mark on May 5, equivalent to about 1 month. In the end, the film left theaters with 172 billion VND.

“Red Rain” was released in a year when the country had many major anniversaries, and movements expressing patriotism, especially among young people, were pushed to the forefront. Some people jokingly said that “Red Rain” was “paved the way” by “Tunnel” and before that by “Peach, Pho and Piano,” creating a fever and trend of going to see historical films in theaters.

The film recreates the 81 fierce days and nights of defending Quang Tri citadel by the liberation army in 1972, produced by Army Cinema in collaboration with Galaxy Studio, directed by Lieutenant Colonel-Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, and written by writer-Colonel Chu Lai.

Along with the brutal war, "Red Rain" also reveals a small corner of the negotiations in Paris between the four parties: the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, the Government of the Republic of Vietnam and the United States. Accordingly, the situation on the banks of Thach Han had a direct impact on the negotiations to end the war and restore peace in Vietnam.

Experts acknowledged the film crew's efforts in recreating a chaotic and fierce battlefield, especially the enemy's equipment and overwhelming firepower. Many viewers pointed out the metaphorical details with depth and many layers of meaning, representing the desire for peace...

At the same time, the film also received comments about the acting, comparisons with the "predecessor" work "The Scent of Burning Grass", the connection between the developments of the Quang Tri battlefield and the political scene in Paris - which was also an uncompromising confrontation between representatives of the parties...

“Red Rain” features young actors Do Nhat Hoang, Lam Thanh Nha, Phuong Nam, Ha Anh, and other actors such as Hua Vi Van, Dinh Thuy Ha, People's Artist Tran Luc, Hoa Minzy.../.
