Is it possible to buy iPhone 15 in Ukraine and what are the restrictions?

Is there an Apple Store in Ukraine?

Can Ukrainians buy Apple's "brand new" iPhone 15s and if so, what conditions do they need?

To answer this question, we should start with Apple itself. In addition to selling online, the company has many retail stores called Apple Stores around the world .

However, in the Find a store > Complete store list section on Apple.com, the closest stores to Ukraine are in Türkiye, meaning there is no “physical” Apple Store in the Eastern European country.

So what about the online Apple Store? The answer is that Ukrainians can go to https://www.apple.com/ua to order the Apple devices they want - however, the latest Apple smartphone models on the website are the iPhone 14.

iPhone 14 appears on https://www.apple.com/ua.

This is surprising because Apple has removed the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max from Apple Stores in other markets.

The reason for this presentation is quite simple, after placing an order - the user will be directed by Apple's online store to retail partners in Ukraine.

This means that Apple is not currently selling directly to Ukrainian users, but through its authorized retailers, and there may still be a large inventory of iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max in its stores.

What about iPhone 15?

From the facts at the beginning of the article, it is obvious that access to the iPhone 15 will also have to go through Apple's retail partners in Ukraine.

According to UNIAN, as soon as Apple officially opens sales of iPhone 15 on September 22, Ukrainian users can order 4 models of iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max from retailers.

However, they will only receive Apple's latest smartphone on September 29.

Also according to UNIAN, the price of ordering iPhone 15 in Ukraine varies depending on the memory option and possibly the color:

iPhone 15 128 GB from 42,499 UAH (about 1,146.76 USD), 256 GB from 47,499 UAH, 512 GB from 57,499 UAH.

iPhone 15 Plus 128 GB from 47,499 UAH (about 1,281.67 USD), 256 GB from 52,499 UAH, 512 GB - from 62,499 UAH.

iPhone 15 Pro 128 GB from 53,499 UAH (about 1,443.57 USD), 256 GB from 58,499 UAH, 512 GB from 68,499 UAH, 1 TB 78,499 UAH.

iPhone 15 Pro Max 256 GB from 63,499 UAH (about 1,713.4 USD), 512 GB from 73,499 UAH, 1 TB from 83,499 UAH.

Besides the iPhone 15, users can also own the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 from Ukrainian retailers.

Are there any restrictions?

The first restriction according to UNIAN is that each Ukrainian user can only order 1 iPhone 15 from retailers - an action that is said to be aimed at avoiding speculation.

And the next limitation is obviously the price, for example if a Ukrainian user goes to an Apple Store in EU countries like Germany or Austria he will only have to pay 949 Euros (about 1,002.97 USD) for the iPhone 15 128GB.

Ukrainians have the option to get their hands on the iPhone 15 sooner and possibly cheaper by buying it at Apple Stores in the EU.

That means Ukrainian retailers can make a profit of around 15% on every genuine iPhone sold in the country. The high markup could make smuggling more common.

Then there could be the installment payment policy, the fact that UNIAN does not mention this payment method means that they will have to have direct agreements with local retailers.

And the final limitation is that users will only receive the iPhone 15 at the same time as the official launch in Vietnam, as well as Macau, Malaysia, Türkiye and 17 other countries and regions on September 29.
