According to the reporter, due to heavy rain lasting for the past 2 days, many areas of La Huong vegetable village were submerged in water, many vegetable areas were flooded and damaged, making people worried.
On the morning of June 12, to reduce the damage, many people had to brave the rain to harvest early, salvaging every vegetable that was flooded. Many people said that heavy rain from the morning of June 11 caused the river water to rise, flooding the entire vegetable growing area.
To avoid losing everything, households braved the rain to harvest their crops and flee the flood. However, the water rose so quickly and flooded so deeply that people were caught off guard, and most of the crops were submerged and damaged.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Chinh (Hoa Tho Tay ward, Cam Le district), it is currently the summer crop season, people are preparing to harvest and sow new seeds when heavy rains cause damage to many vegetable areas, at risk of total loss.
"After months of hard work, when it was almost time to harvest, a storm came and everything was damaged. My garden of water spinach and orchids was flooded and ruined, unable to harvest... I could only pick a little basil and pennywort," Ms. Chinh said sadly.
With an area of over 7 hectares and about 50 households participating in production, La Huong vegetable village is considered the largest clean vegetable area in Da Nang . However, this is a low-lying area, often flooded during heavy rains. Notably, the heavy rain caused by storm No. 1 occurred right when farmers were preparing to harvest, causing many difficulties and damages.

Mr. Tran Van Hoang, Director of La Huong Safe Vegetable Production Cooperative, said that heavy rains caused by storm No. 1 had seriously affected farmers' farming activities. It is estimated that about 5 hectares of vegetables such as cabbage, tomatoes, etc. were damaged.
"Currently, the water level continues to rise, the flood situation is still complicated so we cannot overcome the consequences. After the water recedes, we will count the damage to have a plan to support farmers," said Mr. Hoang.
