"Rain" of bonuses for male student who won silver medal at Asian Informatics Olympiad

On May 28, the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Binh Dinh province held a meeting to honor Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grade IT student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Quy Nhon city), for his excellent achievement of winning a silver medal at the 2025 Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, sent his congratulations and deep praise to Le Kien Thanh.

Mr. Dung emphasized: "Le Kien Thanh's achievements not only affirm his outstanding abilities, but also serve as a strong source of motivation, inspiration and spread the passion for learning and research in the field of information technology to generations of students in the province."

The Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee also specially commended Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu, the homeroom teacher, who discovered and nurtured Thanh's talent to achieve this proud result.

Mr. Ho Quoc Dung further emphasized that Le Kien Thanh's achievements have special significance in the context that the country and Binh Dinh province are making efforts to implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

After hearing the news of Le Kien Thanh's high achievements, many businesses expressed their interest and desire to support.

At the meeting, 3 businesses donated a total of 120 million VND to support Thanh in completing his upcoming exams and studies. In particular, one business also expressed its willingness to support and provide a scholarship to train Thanh for a doctorate.

Sharing his feelings at the meeting, Le Kien Thanh expressed: “The journey to the Olympic silver medal is not only about hours of hard training, but also a valuable lesson about perseverance and courage. I will always remember the feeling of nervousness when facing difficult exam questions, but thanks to everyone's companionship, I have become much more confident.”

“This achievement also proves that no effort is in vain. I hope that this medal will inspire other young people to dare to dream and devote themselves to their passion,” Thanh also affirmed.

According to Mr. Huynh Le Minh, Principal of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Le Kien Thanh is one of the school's most outstanding students with an impressive record of achievements.

Leading the top 15 students in the national team participating in the Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad and winning a silver medal; leading among 4 students representing Vietnam to participate in the international competition held in Bolivia at the end of July.

Not only good at IT, Thanh also has excellent academic performance in all 3 years of grade 10, 11 and 12; achieved IELTS certificate 8.0.

In the youth movement, Thanh achieved the title of 3 Good Students at the provincial level for the 2022-2023 school year, the Ngo May Award in 2023, and the title of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings for the 2023-2025 period at the Central level.

Le Kien Thanh's achievements are a great source of pride for Binh Dinh's education sector, contributing to affirming the position of young Vietnamese talents in the international arena.
