| The flooding situation is predicted to continue for an extended period. |
At the Kim Long station on the Perfume River, the water level measured at 11:00 AM was +4.60m, 1.1m higher than alarm level III. At the Da Vien station, the water level also remained at +4.37m, continuing to be at a very high level.
On the Bo River, the Phu Oc station recorded +4.77m, exceeding alarm level III (4.5m) by about 0.27m; while the Tu Phu station reached +4.43m, approximately at the highest alarm level.
The reservoir is releasing water at a large rate, with a total flow rate of nearly 6,000 m³/s. The three large hydroelectric reservoirs upstream of the Huong River - Huong Dien, Binh Dien, and Ta Trach - are all operating, releasing water through the spillway and generating electricity.
Huong Dien Reservoir reached a water level of +57.72m, discharging 1,968 m³/s downstream, nearly equal to the inflow.
Binh Dien Reservoir maintains a water level of +85.00m and discharges 2,170 m³/s.
Ta Trach Reservoir, the main regulating structure of the Perfume River, recorded a flow rate of +46.86m, discharging 2,257 m³/s. The total discharge downstream reached nearly 6,400 m³/s, with the majority of the water flowing into the Perfume River.
All reservoirs are currently below their normal water levels, indicating that they still have flood control capacity but are approaching their safe operating limits.
Currently, all 15 gates of the Thao Long Dam remain open to ensure rapid flood drainage. To guarantee quick flood discharge, the Thao Long Dam – a salinity control and freshwater retention structure at the end of the Huong River – has had all 15 sluice gates open since the night of October 27th. The difference in water levels before and after the dam is small, indicating that its flood drainage capacity is being maximized. Flooding warnings are issued for downstream areas as both the Huong and Bo rivers have exceeded alarm level III.
Authorities advise people to limit travel through flooded roads, proactively move property and livestock to higher ground; and continue to monitor flood release information and water levels through official channels and the Hue-S application to respond promptly.
Meanwhile, according to the city's Meteorological and Hydrological Station, severe and prolonged flooding continues in the downstream areas of rivers, low-lying areas, and urban areas. The risk of flash floods and landslides remains high in mountainous areas, on slopes, and along streams.
