In order to meet the demand for year-round plant seeds and ensure disease-free, healthy seedlings that bring outstanding high yields, Thanh Hoa Plant Research, Testing and Service Center (Tho Xuan) has invested in research and selection of varieties for propagation by tissue culture.

Currently, the Center is researching and mastering many technical processes to successfully produce plant varieties using tissue culture methods.

The center has successfully researched and trial-grown a number of tissue-cultured tree varieties to serve the restructuring of Thanh Hoa forestry sector. Among them, Acacia hybrid and Acacia auriculiformis trees are produced by tissue culture method.

Currently, the center is focusing on producing MD2 Pineapple variety for high productivity and yield.

This is a pineapple variety with an average weight of 1.4 - 1.5 kg, is not easily damaged by the sun, has a thin skin, is juicy, bright yellow, fragrant, has little fiber, the flesh is crispy, and has a delicious flavor...

The center is expected to provide people in Ngoc Lac, Ha Trung, Nhu Thanh districts, Bim Son town... with about 3-4 million trees/year.

According to Director of Thanh Hoa Plant Research, Testing and Service Center Nguyen Trong Quyen: "Tissue culture from plant cells is the most advanced technical method today and is increasingly popular, helping to quickly and simultaneously produce plant varieties while still completely preserving the characteristics of the original plant."

The embryos are numbered by the center's staff to monitor the growth process.

The center's staff checks and monitors each embryo substrate being nurtured daily.

To ensure the growth of the plant varieties, the Center has invested in installing LED lighting systems and air conditioners to ensure the temperature of the tissue culture environment.
