In the summer, mosquitoes breed very quickly, especially when the weather is humid. Many families use mosquito rackets, mosquito sprays, and mosquito incense to kill these hateful creatures. However, using incense or mosquito repellent is considered unsafe when there are small children in the house. Therefore, many people want to find mosquito repellent methods using natural ingredients that are not harmful to health.

You can refer to one of the natural ways to repel mosquitoes below.

Housewarming with mugwort leaves

First, you need to prepare a handful of dried mugwort leaves. Then, roll the mugwort leaves into a small bundle.

Prepare a ceramic bowl. Light the mugwort leaves on fire and place them in the bowl.

Clean the house with mugwort leaf water

You can do it another way which is to use mugwort water to clean the house.

Take a handful of mugwort and put it in boiling water. Soak until the essence of the mugwort dissolves in the water, then filter out the residue. Using mugwort water to clean the house not only helps to purify the air, has a pleasant scent but also repels mosquitoes extremely effectively.

Create mosquito repellent solution with mugwort leaves

You can boil mugwort leaves in water, let it cool and put it in a spray bottle. Use this water to spray on your limbs when you leave the house. Mosquitoes do not like the smell of mugwort so they will try to stay away from you.

Soak feet with mugwort leaves

You can use mugwort leaves to boil water to soak your feet; it warms the body, promotes blood circulation, reduces headaches... At the same time, this method also helps keep mosquitoes away from you.

Make a mugwort pillow

Dry the mugwort leaves and put them in your pillow. The special scent of mugwort leaves will help disinfect, sterilize, repel mosquitoes, calm the nerves, reduce fatigue, and improve sleep quality. This method is suitable for both adults and children.

Some other ways to repel mosquitoes

In addition to using mugwort leaves to repel mosquitoes, you can refer to other ways to repel mosquitoes with natural ingredients below.

Repel mosquitoes with coffee grounds

Dry the coffee grounds and pour them onto a piece of aluminum foil (or an empty can and light it on fire). Place the coffee in a corner of the house or under the bed so that the coffee smell spreads everywhere. When burning, remember to open the door to ventilate the house. The scent and smoke from the coffee grounds will keep mosquitoes away.

Note, when burned, coffee grounds do not create flames, so pay attention to safety to avoid causing fires.

Repel mosquitoes with essential oils

Essential oil is an effective mosquito repellent. You can apply the oil directly to your skin. The smell of the oil will keep mosquitoes away from you.

Alternatively, you can open the oil bottle and place it in a cool corner of the room. The scent of the oil will repel mosquitoes from the house.

Applying a bit of essential oil to the fan blades also helps spread the scent of the oil, helping to repel mosquitoes.
