In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to reduce admission quotas based on high school graduation exam scores and increase the number of quotas based on thinking assessment test scores.
On the morning of January 15, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced its enrollment plan for 2025. It is expected that the school will maintain 3 stable enrollment methods with nearly 9,700 targets, including talent selection (20%), based on thinking assessment test scores (40%), and based on 2025 high school graduation exam scores (40%).
Compared to 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology reduced about 10% of the quota based on high school graduation exam scores to reserve for thinking assessment test scores.
In the talent selection method, Hanoi University of Science and Technology directly recruits excellent students according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , based on international certificates and based on capacity profiles combined with interviews.
In the admission method based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores, Hanoi University of Science and Technology retains the same 10 admission combinations as previous years, adding 1 new combination K01 (Math, Literature, Physics/Chemistry/Biology/IT), in which Math and Literature are 2 compulsory subjects, combined with 1 of the 4 subjects above with a coefficient.
The formula for calculating admission scores for the K01 group is as follows:
Math x 3 + Literature x 1 + Math/Chemistry/Biology/IT x 2.
The admission combinations are considered equivalent.
According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, candidates with VSTEP English certificates or international English certificates can convert them into English subject scores when applying for admission based on high school graduation exam scores (combinations A01, D01, D04, D07) and add bonus points when applying for admission based on talent selection method, based on thinking assessment test scores.
With the admission method based on thinking assessment test scores, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organizes objective multiple-choice tests on computers in 3 sessions: January 18-19; March 8-9; April 26-27.
The exam locations are in 13 provinces/cities including Hanoi, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Da Nang .
