| Innogreenlife 2024 Innovation Startup Competition Finals |
The event was organized by the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Technology Transfer (Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry) with the support of the Ecotech - Techfest Vietnam Ecological Technology Community.
This year's competition focuses on five strategic areas: Green technology transformation in production and life; Solutions to adapt to climate change; Sustainable education model; Efficient use of natural and human resources; Improving the quality of life. These global issues are exploited by the teams through innovative products and solutions, contributing to demonstrating the role and responsibility of the young generation in protecting the environment and promoting green economic development.

The Innogreenlife 2024 competition was officially launched in September 2024, with nearly 70 ideas from many training units, attracting nearly 500 creative students to participate in the Preliminary Round. From there, 30 excellent projects entered the Semi-final Round, where the teams were intensively trained by experts from the Ecotech Community - Techfest Vietnam. Through a rigorous training process and 6 systematic startup skills training courses, the 10 most outstanding teams emerged with clear business models, breakthrough technology and sustainable development vision, ready to break out in the final race.

At the final round, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Sao Mai - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry - emphasized the key role of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the country's development. According to Resolution 57 of the Politburo, these are the most important breakthroughs, the core driving force to help Vietnam develop rapidly, towards the goal of becoming a modern industrialized country with high average income by 2030 and high income by 2045.

In the context of global economic fluctuations and the looming middle-income trap, investment in science, technology and innovation is inevitable. Universities, as the cradle of knowledge and research, need to take the lead in building the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation among students.

With a total sponsorship value of over 1 billion VND, Innogreen Life 2024 has received the trust of more than 15 prestigious businesses and organizations. In addition to receiving awards, the finalists also receive comprehensive support from the organizing committee such as professional advice, communication, investment connections, and especially incubation opportunities at the IUH Startup Fund. This support will create an important stepping stone for projects to continue to develop after the competition.

After the exciting Innogreen Life 2024 Final Round, the awards were officially announced. The first prize went to the project "Building a timekeeping application based on facial recognition and user positioning". The two second prizes went to the project "Champion Bar Energy Bar for athletes" and the project "EcoScaleGen product - Nano collagen from snakehead fish scales using green biotechnology". In addition, the three third prize winning projects included: Production of vegan fresh cream, green technology honey dryer and Reus Cricle. In addition, there was the Most Creative Project Award - Voted by the Jury; The Most Favorite Project Award voted by the community and 3 consolation prizes.

In particular, from Innogreen Life 2024, the 5 best projects will be selected, invested in and sent by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry to participate in the "Students with startup ideas - SV STARTUP" contest, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, along with many other national and international startup playgrounds.

A proud highlight of this year’s competition is the presence of a group of high school students – a rare event in a large-scale competition for students. The second prize winning project, “Champion Bar for Athletes”, was researched by high school students from Gifted High Schools, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, and students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, demonstrating the spirit of inter-level cooperation and borderless creativity of the young generation.

Sharing at the final round of the competition, Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Ngoc Nam - Head of the Department of Science Management and International Cooperation said: The Innogreenlife competition was originally organized to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity among students. Over the seasons, the scope has expanded from within the school to students of other universities. Realizing the great creative potential of high school students through recent programs in Ho Chi Minh City, the Organizing Committee has oriented that from the 5th season, the competition will officially expand to high school students. This is a step to spread the spirit of innovation more widely in the educational community. However, to ensure fairness and suitability in terms of capacity and facilities, we are considering dividing the competition into separate groups for students and students in the following seasons.
