Bao Anh in the movie "The Line":

- 19th year playing a police officer, after "The One" and coming up next is "The Border", Bao Anh still hasn't given up on her intention to become the actress who plays the most police officers in Vietnam?

Of course! I certainly won't give up on that idea. My ultimate goal is still to be the actor who plays the most police roles.

- Why is the image of a police officer so attractive to you? After nearly two decades of playing the police, what key have you found to make each role different from the previous one and have its own appeal, and to keep yourself from getting bored?

The role of a police officer represents the power of justice, represents goodness, so I really like to play positive roles like that. Many people ask why I don't try villain roles, but doing bad things is easy, doing good things is difficult, so I always want to do good things. I have not seen any reason to change my choice. I have been invited to play villain roles, but if at the same time I am invited to play both a bad role and a police role, I will choose the latter, even if the police role has little screen time.

Bao Anh plays police officer Quyet Thang - the movie "Borderline" will air on VTV1 from October 22.

- Is there any significant difference between the police role in "The Border" and your previous roles, most recently compared to the very successful movie "The Doc Dao"?

Although it is still the same green shirt, each role has a different level of difficulty because each film is a different case, different people, different emotional flow. With Doc Dao , my character also stands on the line between good and evil, but in the end he chooses the path of justice.

In The Border, because there are still 10 episodes of the script missing, I still don't know what the outcome of my character will be. However, the role of a police officer in The Border is more difficult than other films because it is a police officer in a political film, so all the dialogue is sharp. The role is difficult, the dialogue is complicated and requires a higher level of precision. My character this time also has more contact with the prosecutor's office.

- I heard that 6 years ago you turned down the role of a police officer in the movie "Sinh Tu" after only 5 minutes of reading the script. What was the reason?

6 years ago, I remember that director Mai Hien and Ms. Tu Lan, the producer, called and gave me the script. At that time, I was also free, so when I received the script, I usually read it right away and read it very quickly. Before that, I knew that Sinh Tu was also a political film, but when I opened the script, I saw 2 pages of dialogue in the first scene alone.

The following dialogues were also long and difficult, reading them made me feel pressured because of the heavy struggle between right and wrong, good and evil. It was the first time I decided to leave a role so quickly, not because I was afraid of the difficulty, but because I knew that the political film topic needed the best people to meet the crew's progress in time for broadcast. At that time, I thought maybe I wouldn't do well so I withdrew.

Bao Anh said that when playing a police officer, hot or sensitive scenes are excluded.

- After the movie aired and created good effects, did you regret it?

Of course I don't regret it because the next actor played the role better than me. I think my withdrawal was correct even though I would have done it if I had accepted it. But I believe that making a film should be fun because I am doing art. Furthermore, I am not a professional actor but just an amateur, so for a difficult role, I need a lot of experience and knowledge, even though at the time I was invited to play Sinh Tu, I had been in the profession for 12 years. Because acting in this type of film, even uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters with 30-40 years of experience find it difficult, let alone me.

- But this time with "The Line" you are more confident?

I am much more confident because the dialogue is not too difficult and I have been a police officer for 19 years, so I can say I have enough experience. 19 years of speaking professional police sentences has become as familiar to Bao Anh as life.

- After nearly two decades of appearing as a police officer on screen, in real life, has the audience ever thought you were a real police officer?

Actually, people always think I am a police officer. The image of me in police uniform seems to be ingrained in the audience's subconscious, so sometimes many people think I am a police officer and not an actor (laughs).

- What does your wife think when she knows her husband continues to play the role of a police officer?

My wife always supports me in taking on roles like this because playing a police officer almost eliminates hugging, kissing, or sensitive scenes.

- Is that also the reason why you are more excited about this type of role?

Actually, I like movies with difficult topics or strong action, but I don't like making light-hearted love movies. My wife is comfortable, but I don't find it as enjoyable as the police roles that involve intellectual battles.

But I would like to reveal that this year I will be playing a role that is completely different from the ones I have played before and is not a police officer. I am sure that the audience will be surprised when they watch it!

Bao Anh shares about the role of a police officer in "The Border":

Hong Diem becomes Deputy Chief Prosecutor, reunites with Manh Truong after 8 years on VTV film. Manh Truong shared that when he knew he was paired with Hong Diem in the film "Borderline" but at the end of the film the actress kissed someone else, he lost interest.
