Born in 1945, Diep Di Manh came from the Anhui provincial drama troupe and was also a talented martial arts stuntman. In Journey to the West , he played more than 20 roles, big and small, most notably Manjushri Bodhisattva (episode 13) and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva (episode 25). In addition, he also transformed into the second prince of Jade Flower Pearl, Lei Gong, Ling Kong Zi... all of which were action roles that required skillful martial arts skills.

The intense confrontations between him and Liu Xiao Ling Tong (as Sun Wukong) not only left an impression on screen but also marked the beginning of a close friendship in real life. Previously, Liu Xiao Ling Tong had shared many intimate photos with Ye Yi Manh and his family.
