Nguyen Trong Thanh, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, won overwhelmingly with 330 points in the fourth quarter competition, winning the last ticket to the final round of the year of Road to Olympia.
The fourth quarter competition, the 22nd year of the Road to Olympia program, aired on October 1, featured four contestants: Tran Dang Khoa, Tien Giang High School for the Gifted (Tien Giang); Hoang Ngoc Thinh, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted ( Da Nang ); Nguyen Trong Thanh, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted (Hai Phong); Vo Nguyen Minh Triet, Le Khiet High School for the Gifted (Quang Ngai).
In the introduction, Trong Thanh showed confidence. The male student shared that after winning the right to compete in the quarter finals, he traveled to many places to experience and learn, preparing for the important match with the spirit of a Hai Phong person "eating the waves and talking the wind", not having to fear anything.
The first round - Warm-up is Trong Thanh's strength. He has won 140 points in previous competitions. This round has three rounds, with 8, 12 and 16 questions. Contestants get 10 points for each correct answer and 5 points are deducted for each wrong answer.
Trong Thanh was very careful. In the first round, he only rang the bell once, answered correctly and won 10 points. In the next two rounds, Thanh rang the bell more, answering every question correctly. Especially in the third round, Thanh got 6 questions correct, from the topics of Mathematics to Music.
At the end of this part, Thanh led with 100 points, Dang Khoa 60, Minh Triet 50 and Ngoc Thinh 5 points.

Part two, Overcoming Obstacles , consists of a 9-letter keyword. The answers to four suggested questions will help the contestant get closer to this keyword. As soon as the answer to the first question was given as "Security", Dang Khoa pressed the bell to answer the keyword.
The answer "Food" brought the Tien Giang boy a big advantage with 120 points. Trong Thanh dropped to second place because he did not score any points. However, the male student said he was still very comfortable, considering second place a good advantage to enter the following rounds.
Meanwhile, Minh Triet has 60 points and Ngoc Thinh still has 5 points.
Speed Up is the third part of the test, consisting of four questions. The fastest and most correct answer will earn 40 points. The score will gradually decrease, down to 10 points for the slowest but correct answer. This part of the test creates an exciting score chase as the gap in points gradually narrows.
Trong Thanh scored 40 points on the first question, which asked him to count the number of quadrilaterals in a block. In the second question, the male student caused regret when he gave the correct answer in the first few seconds but then corrected it to an incorrect one. However, he won points on both the last two questions with 10 and 30 points.
At the end of this part, Thanh scored 180 points, regaining the leading position. Dang Khoa followed closely behind with 170 points, Minh Triet 140 and Ngoc Thinh 95.
Having the highest score after three rounds, Trong Thanh was the first to take the Finish Line round. He chose three questions with scores of 20-20-30 respectively.
Among these, one was a math question, one was about Vincent van Gogh's painting "The Starry Night" and the last was about four major fishing grounds in Vietnam. Thanh answered all of them correctly, earning a full 70 points, bringing his total score to 250.
The race was fierce as Dang Khoa kept chasing. After his own performance and answering the first question correctly in Minh Triet's performance, Khoa scored 220 points. The male student celebrated because he still had a chance to win the laurel wreath.
But then Triet got the last question wrong in the History topic. Trong Thanh won the right to answer and got 20 more points, bringing the total to 270.
In Ngoc Thinh's final round with three 30-30-30 questions, Trong Thanh won the right to answer the first question about the spaceship, gaining 30 more points. At this point, the competition was almost over, Thanh's fans were celebrating loudly in one corner of the stands.
Not stopping there, the Hai Phong male student continued to win the right to answer the last History question in Thinh's package and answered correctly, ending the contest with 330 points.
Dang Khoa came in second with 220 points, Minh Triet 150 and Ngoc Thinh 65 points.

After winning the laurel wreath, Thanh shared that he wanted to dedicate this victory to his family, school, Hai Phong people and especially the late Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh.
"I am very grateful for your efforts and contributions to Hai Phong's education sector and other fields so that Hai Phong can change as it is today. I want to dedicate this victory to express my gratitude to you," Thanh said.
With a convincing victory in the quarter-final, Trong Thanh won the last ticket to the final round of the 22nd Road to Olympia. In the match on October 8, he will compete with the first-place winners of the previous three quarters: Nguyen Viet Thanh, Soc Son High School (Hanoi); Nguyen Minh Triet, Quoc Hoc Hue High School (Thua Thien Hue); Le Xuan Manh, Ham Rong High School (Thanh Hoa).
