This morning (June 1), a group of middle and high school students left early to travel from Thu Duc City to the center of Ho Chi Minh City in time to attend the German Career Day at the Deutsches Haus building on Le Duan Street, District 1.
The German Career Fair 2025 is an information event on career opportunities in Germany organized by the German Consulate General in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) and the German Business Association (GBA). The German Career Bus is a mobile information and event center, departing from Hanoi and passing through many provinces and cities before arriving in Ho Chi Minh City.
The leader of the group of students from Thu Duc City is Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Director of the UK Foreign Language Center. Sharing with Thanh Nien , she hopes that through this event, the students will have a better vision of career opportunities, thereby somewhat imagining what they want to do in the future. "They can aim to study abroad in Germany or in countries that use the foreign language they have learned," Ms. Thuy said.

Vocationaleducation is raised to a new level
Speaking at the event, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu affirmed that in the challenging and dynamic context, vocational education is no longer a second choice, but has been and is a solid path to integration and affirming contributions to society.
"Initiatives such as the German Career Coach not only change the mindset of the vocational training community, but also create opportunities for students and parents to directly access advanced vocational training models according to German standards, empowering the younger generation to shape the future of the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership," according to Mr. Hieu.
Mr. Hieu highly appreciated the above initiative, which he said is extremely meaningful and creates conditions to effectively connect schools, businesses, and the labor market for Ho Chi Minh City, where there are nearly 2 million students and teenagers of school age, preparing to start a career.

With the common policy of merging Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong into a megacity, Mr. Hieu emphasized his desire to work with German partners to replicate the career guidance and innovation model to high schools and vocational training centers in the area.
He called on both sides to create favorable conditions for German businesses to invest, promote technology transfer, develop digital skills for students in the city, and cooperate in vocational training programs and student exchanges between the two countries.
Vietnam is Germany's choice
Mr. Christopher Scholl, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, recalled that Vietnam and Germany share many common historical points. This year, the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations, but the history related to Vietnamese workers in Germany goes back much further, especially in the field of labor export. Many Vietnamese people went to work in East Germany and have now established a Vietnamese community in Germany.

This year, due to its rapidly aging population, Germany is looking for qualified workers from abroad, and Vietnam is one of the choices based on its long-standing relationship in the field of vocational labor. "There are many opportunities for young Vietnamese people to study, train or work in Germany," according to the Deputy Consul General.
Mr. Scholl said that the German Career Day event provides all the necessary information for Vietnamese people interested in studying and working in Germany, from language courses to visa procedures, and also provides specific guidance and advice on training, studying and working in Germany or at German companies in Vietnam.
The festival has the participation of German businesses operating in Vietnam.
