The first week of the second quarter of Road to Olympia 24 (broadcast on the afternoon of January 14) witnessed the dramatic competition of four contestants: Trinh Hoang Giang (Thai Hoa High School, Nghe An), Hoang Dinh Dat (Nguyen Binh Khiem High School, Hai Phong), Thai Hong Phong (Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Quang Binh ) and Nguyen Khac Thong (Ngo Gia Tu High School, Dak Lak).

Entering the first round - Warm-up, after the individual and general questions, Hong Phong took the lead with 80 points, Hoang Giang 45 points, Khac Thong 15 points, Dinh Dat 10 points.

The keyword to be found in this week's Obstacle Course consists of 8 letters. The first selected horizontal line has the question: "Find the missing word to complete the following stanza by author Tran Hoa Binh : "... a fallen leaf/ That becomes autumn/ ... a cooing bird/ That becomes pure dawn". No contestant won any points.

The second horizontal row selected contained the question: "Which unit of time has a length equal to 86,400 seconds?" Four contestants scored with the answer "Day".

The third selected horizontal row has the question: "What is the product of the only even prime number, the smallest odd prime number, and the twin prime number with 59? (a twin prime is a prime number that is 2 less than or greater than another prime number)".

As soon as the MC read the third question, Hoang Giang quickly pressed the bell to gain the right to answer the mystery of the obstacle that needed to be found, which was "Leap Year". He deduced from the available data and suggested images. With this correct answer, Hoang Giang took the lead in the race with 95 points, Hong Phong 90 points, Khac Thong 25 points, Dinh Dat 20 points.

In the Acceleration round, Hong Phong took advantage of four acceleration opportunities to regain the lead with 240 points. Next, Hoang Giang had 155 points, Khac Thong had 125 points, and Dinh Dat had 80 points.

Entering the decisive round - Finish Line, Hong Phong chose three questions worth 20 - 30 - 20 points. He let Dinh Dat answer the first question but did not win any points; nor did he have the correct answer for the second question. However, the Quang Binh male student managed to score the last question to finish in second place with 260 points.

Hoang Giang chose three questions worth 20 - 30 - 30 points and chose Hope Star for the last question. He scored the first question; let Khac Thong score the second question, and Dinh Dat score the last question. Hoang Giang finished with 115 points.

Khac Thong with 155 points, chose three questions of 20 - 30 - 20 points. He let Hong Phong and Hoang Giang score the first two questions respectively. Scoring the last question with the choice of Hope Star, Khac Thong returned to position with 145 points.

Dinh Dat chose three questions 20 - 30 - 30. He scored the first question and the last question chose Hope Star; let Hong Phong score the second question. Dinh Dat came in with 130 points.

In the final result, Thai Hong Phong (Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Quang Binh) won the laurel wreath in the first week of the second quarter with a high score of 310.

Trinh Hoang Giang (Thai Hoa High School, Nghe An) came in second with 155 points. Also in third place were Hoang Dinh Dat (Nguyen Binh Khiem High School, Hai Phong) with 80 points and Nguyen Khac Thong (Ngo Gia Tu High School, Dak Lak ) with 125 points.
