The "5 no's, 3 clean's" campaign launched by the Vietnam Women's Union has been concretized by the Quang Ninh Women's Union at all levels in many creative and practical ways, closely linked to the National Target Program on New Rural Construction.
Identifying "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" as a long-term campaign that has a direct impact on people's quality of life, the Provincial Women's Union has directed all levels of women's unions in the province to develop specific and flexible action plans. One of the typical creative ways is to assign targets to strive to implement the criteria of "5 no's, 3 clean's" to each union base, associated with the model of "Trusted Address".
Over the past 15 years, women's associations at all levels have organized over 25,000 propaganda and community communication sessions in various forms, such as: Radio, contests, skits, leaflets, manuals, social networks... Up to now, more than 500,000 members and people have accessed practical content about "5 no, 3 clean". Some typical models such as "Women's groups self-manage green - clean - beautiful roads", "Using baskets to go to the market - Limiting plastic waste", "Turning waste into money"... not only propagate but also change people's behavior and lifestyle towards civility and sustainability.
The “no poverty” criterion has been identified by all levels of women’s unions as a key task. From 2010 to present, the Women’s Unions at all levels in the province have entrusted nearly 36,000 households to borrow more than VND 2,558 billion through the Social Policy Bank; maintained the Women’s Support Fund with nearly VND 4 billion for 265 members to borrow capital. Women’s Unions at all levels have helped more than 1,500 poor and near-poor households in the form of supporting working days, breeding animals, production capital, house building support... combined with technical training, vocational training, and product consumption connections.
A bright spot in the implementation of the “3 clean” is the environmental protection models with women as the core. To date, the province has more than 1,200 models and clubs on environmental protection, typically: “Using shopping baskets”, “Reusing plastic waste”, “Women’s flower street”, “Waste-free road”, “Women’s association without single-use plastic bags”... More than 620,000 plastic shopping baskets, 46,000 classified trash bins, 8,600 organic waste compost tanks have been distributed for free, contributing to raising public awareness about waste reduction.
The “Turning trash into money” model is considered an outstanding innovation, both helping to protect the environment and creating a fund for association activities. In 2023 alone, these models collected about 20 tons of recyclable waste, selling for more than 3 billion VND, used to support women in difficult circumstances, give gifts to poor children and maintain association activities at the grassroots level.
The campaign "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's" is also the foundation for the movement to build a cultural life. Currently, 95% of member families meet the standards of "Cultural family", more than 2,300 sports , cultural and artistic clubs are maintained regularly with more than 40,000 members participating. Models such as "Women preserving the identity of the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group", Dan Vu Club, volleyball... not only create a healthy playground but also contribute to preserving the beauty of regional culture.
The effective implementation of the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's" has contributed to the completion of 11/19 criteria for building new rural areas in many localities. The Provincial Women's Union has also actively integrated the campaign into the implementation of Resolution 06-NQ/TU on the development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, thereby helping to change people's awareness, lifestyle and living habits.
From the foundation of the movement "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's", Quang Ninh women not only contribute to building safe, green - clean - beautiful residential areas, but also gradually improve the quality of life for their own families.
