Improve the quality of human resources to meet the communication requirements of associations and industries.

On the morning of September 26, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vusta) organized a workshop to improve communication capacity and disseminate knowledge for industry associations nationwide.

Speaking at the workshop, MSc. Le Thanh Tung, Head of the Department of Communication and Knowledge Dissemination, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, said: Communication and dissemination of science and technology knowledge is an important task and also a strength of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and its member associations, which gathers a team of science and technology intellectuals, good experts, rich in experience and enthusiasm in disseminating knowledge to the community, people and society. In recent times, communication and knowledge dissemination activities have made many strides and achieved many remarkable results.

Currently, Vusta has 69 press agencies in the system including: 1 Newspaper (Tri Thuc and Cuoc Song Newspaper), 47 magazines under national industry associations and 21 magazines under Vusta's science and technology organizations. With a large and diverse press agency system, in recent times, Vusta's press has done a good job of propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and political and ideological orientations for science and technology intellectuals.

Vusta's press performs well the task of communication, dissemination of knowledge, promotion of the transfer of scientific, technical and technological advances into production and life, contributing to improving people's knowledge. Specialized scientific and technical journals are the place to publish and publish the results of research projects, academic exchanges, contribute to the training of young scientists and contribute to the development of industries and fields.

Through hundreds of newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and websites, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and its member associations have continuously promoted the dissemination of knowledge about the Party's policies, the State's laws and policies, new knowledge, and new scientific and technological advances to help improve people's knowledge, protect people's health, increase adaptability and response to climate change, and improve the quality of life for people across the country.

In addition, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations always focuses on and promotes the dissemination of knowledge through publications. The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations's Tri Thuc Publishing House was established in 2005. Up to now, Tri Thuc Publishing House has become a familiar and prestigious name for science and technology intellectuals in particular and readers nationwide in general. In the period of 2015 - 2022, Tri Thuc Publishing House has published about 800 books with nearly 3,000,000 copies in the World Knowledge Quintessence Bookcase, Popular Knowledge Bookcase and other bookcases. Tri Thuc Publishing House has contributed to providing readers nationwide with knowledge from common, simple to elite knowledge with high academic value.

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has organized many seminars, workshops, and training programs to improve professional skills in journalism, communication, and knowledge dissemination for member associations. During the period 2015 - 2020, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has coordinated and supported 130 member associations with a total budget of 7 billion VND to carry out knowledge dissemination activities at the unit.

To improve the effectiveness of communication activities, MSc. Le Thanh Tung said that in the coming time, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and its member associations need to complete the organizational structure, improve the quality of the staff to meet the requirements of professional expertise to carry out communication work and disseminate knowledge. Build a multi-disciplinary and multi-professional communication and knowledge dissemination network, closely connect members in the system to promote internal strength and collective strength, replicate typical models, implement national programs to spread the position and role of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and its member organizations.

At the same time, strengthen the role of bridging, connecting, directing and guiding the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations towards member organizations to improve the effectiveness of communication and knowledge dissemination.

Sharing about communication and knowledge dissemination activities, MSc. Nguyen Huu Gioi, Chairman of the Vietnam Library Association, said that over the time of organizing communication and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, the Vietnam Library Association has attached importance to the role of communication and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge as an effective tool, an "Information Channel/Information Loudspeaker" in the work of propagating and disseminating knowledge of the Association, the Union, and the industry, serving the Association's work effectively and practically.

In addition to carrying out the Association's political tasks, the work of communicating and disseminating scientific and technological knowledge to the branches and inter-branches of the Vietnam Library Association will promote the spread of knowledge information from the central level to localities, to organizations and members, changing awareness and action throughout the Association. Major contents on Consulting, appraisal and social criticism, such as: Contributing to the development of the Vietnam Library Law and legal documents on libraries..., have been consulted by the Association's leaders from members and affiliated Association organizations via the Internet, quickly, democratically and effectively.

In order for the association to continue to operate effectively, MSc. Nguyen Huu Gioi suggested that it is necessary to promote communication and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge in each national association and join this work with the Vietnam Union of Associations. Each national association needs to have a specialized board in this field/there should be an association leader to direct this content in a systematic and responsible manner.

In addition to traditional methods of communication and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, MSc. Nguyen Huu Gioi said that we need to focus on promoting communication on the website of the Association and its member associations. This is a great and very effective advantage, when national industry associations do not have much operating budget to print, publish information, and promote the Association's image in the traditional way as before./.
