Improving training quality and combat readiness at Regiment 180

Right from the beginning of the year, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 180 have thoroughly grasped the directives and resolutions of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , the Military Region 3 Command and the Provincial Military Command on training and combat readiness tasks. Based on the characteristics of the unit's situation, the Regiment has developed a realistic training plan, suitable for each subject; at the same time, launched the emulation movement "Excellent training, strict discipline", associated with building discipline and training order and routine. Lieutenant Colonel Duong Van Hanh, Commander of Regiment 180, said: “The Regiment always identifies training as a central and regular task and a decisive factor in the overall quality and combat strength of the unit, so it has focused on building and nurturing a team of training cadres, especially cadres directly training. Regularly organize inspections and foster pedagogical methods, professional qualifications, and command style, ensuring that each cadre is an example of responsibility, capacity, and training methods.”

Implementing the motto "Basic, practical, solid", Regiment 180 has proactively organized training for the subjects with full content, time, and quality assurance. The Regiment hosted the first phase training course for cadres organized by the Provincial Military Command, and also organized internal training courses for the Regiment's cadres, achieving good results. In addition, the unit has deployed in-service training for officers and professional soldiers; organized 2 additional training courses; coordinated to serve the national defense and security knowledge training course for subjects 3 courses 16 for 87 cadres who are heads and deputy heads of departments, branches, sectors, unions, agencies, units, colleges and universities in the province. The training of new soldiers and training of reserve officers has also been effectively implemented, ensuring quality and progress. The unit has organized the first phase training for soldiers enlisted in the army according to the program and plan; Organized the AK submachine gun shooting test, lesson 3, including shooting and using other weapons to destroy daytime targets of the infantry platoon and company to ensure safety, with good results.

A highlight of the Regiment is that it has well organized shooting tests, tactical training, physical strength, and basic combat skills in realistic conditions. Through inspection by the Provincial Military Command, the contents of books, lesson plans, and schedules are all well guaranteed. In the first months of 2025, the unit organized tactical exercises with air bullet firing at the infantry platoon level with good results, ensuring safety for people and weapons, equipment, contributing to improving the ability to handle situations and command operations. The Regiment also actively participated in competitions and sports events with a spirit of learning and high determination. Notably, the competition for innovative training tool models with 10 selected initiatives, won 2 B prizes and 1 C prize at the provincial level. The Regiment also hosted and prepared well for the competition for excellent training company and battalion military officers; at the same time, it reviewed and was ready to participate in the competition for excellent BB Regiment Commanders and Political Commissars at the Military Region level; Ensure good facilities for the martial arts team of the Provincial Military Command to practice and prepare for competitions at the Military Region level.

Along with that, the Regiment has proactively invested in improving and consolidating the model of teaching aids, training grounds, and training grounds; organizing training according to the motto "Basic, practical, solid"; strictly implementing training decentralization and synchronous training. Training contents are close to combat reality, combat areas, suitable to the characteristics, tasks of the unit and the climate and weather conditions of each period. Besides technical and tactical training, the Regiment especially focuses on physical training, survival skills, and coping with complex situations in the area. Combat movements, long marches, overcoming obstacles, shooting, grenade throwing, and close combat are organized regularly, ensuring high intensity and practicality. Regiment 180 has closely coordinated with agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command and local militia and self-defense forces to organize drills, especially drills on area defense, fire prevention and fighting, search and rescue, and helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Through drills, it aims to train command style, management methods, and scientific nature in each content and training issue, in commanding and managing troops on field trips, building fortifications, etc. At the same time, it checks and evaluates the actual training results of the unit, thereby promptly drawing lessons from existing problems to improve the quality of training in the future.

With the achieved results, Regiment 180 (Provincial Military Command) continues to affirm its role as a mobile unit ready to successfully carry out local defense and military tasks, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety and a solid national defense posture in the province.
