Improving the effectiveness of ensuring food safety in agriculture, forestry and fishery

On May 30, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town held a conference to review the work of inspecting and ensuring food safety in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery in the period of 2020 - 2024, according to Decision 58/2019/QD-UBND and Decision 24/2024/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of An Giang province.

In the period of 2020 - 2024, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town has directed specialized sectors to perform well the work of statistics and periodic inspection of agricultural, forestry and fishery production and business establishments that meet food safety conditions; inspect production and business establishments that are not subject to the issuance of certificates of establishments meeting food safety conditions...

Specifically, it has organized appraisals and granted certificates of eligibility to 62 establishments, and issued and renewed certificates of eligibility to 13 establishments; inspected 85 food service establishments, 175 food businesses, and 1 production establishment in 2024; organized 1,348 establishments to sign commitments to ensure food safety...

From the results achieved, the People's Committee of Tinh Bien Town requested specialized sectors and localities to strengthen propaganda and raise awareness for production establishments, consumers and the whole society about the role of ensuring food safety, especially in the context of international economic integration and climate change.

Along with that, it also promotes production linkages associated with the consumption of safe products, replicates VietGAP, organic, and circular production models associated with traceability. Tightens inspection, supervision, and handling of violations of establishments producing and trading agricultural materials and food in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries...
