The school organizes student teams to be on duty, remind and propagate compliance with traffic safety regulations. |
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai, Principal of the school, said: The school has over 600 students, most of whom go to school by bicycle, a few ride electric bicycles or are picked up by their parents by motorbike. In previous years, during rush hour, the area in front of the school gate was often chaotic, motorbikes parked on the road, students did not pay attention when crossing the street..., posing many potential safety risks.
Therefore, along with propaganda and reminders to students during flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week, extracurricular activities and organizing students and parents to sign a commitment to strictly comply with traffic regulations, the school also develops a plan to coordinate with local authorities and relevant forces to effectively implement solutions to ensure traffic safety. - teacher Nguyen Thi Hai
For example, the model of "Traffic Safety School Gate" was deployed by the Party Committee, the School Board, the District Youth Union, and Xuan Phuong Commune to all union members, youth, and team members in the School. The School directed the establishment of a youth shock force and young security team consisting of teachers and students to participate in ensuring traffic safety and order at the school gate before and after school hours.
Each class builds a young security team of 3-5 members. These members are trained in Traffic Safety Law, have a firm grasp of regulations and penalties for violations, and become core propagandists. The teams are responsible for reminding and detecting traffic violations; checking student vehicles for modifications, brake failure, worn tires, etc.
In addition, the School Youth Union also coordinated with the Commune Police to organize propaganda sessions on the Road Traffic Safety Law, helping students recognize dangerous situations and common traffic accidents on rural roads. Along with that, the School Youth Union also set up a Facebook page to receive information and feedback videos about the traffic situation of students in the school, thereby tracing the identity of students who violate the law to promptly correct and handle them.
Teachers at the School often proactively research documents and consult students to create practical, lively, and engaging lectures. |
Along with that, one of the important contents that the School deploys annually to the staff, teachers and all students is the contest "Traffic safety for tomorrow's smiles" - jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the National Traffic Safety Committee and Honda Vietnam Company. This contest receives enthusiastic support and participation not only from the staff, teachers but also from a large number of students.
On the teachers’ side, for many consecutive years, the school’s teachers have enthusiastically participated in the competition with quality, impressive lectures and achieved high-quality awards. In the two school years 2023-2034 and 2024-2025, the school had 2 teachers who won 3 Encouragement prizes and a Third prize; at the same time, it was the only unit in Phu Binh district to have an award.
After a period of synchronous implementation of the above solutions, the traffic situation in front of Xuan Phuong Secondary School has clearly changed positively, there is no longer a scene of jostling and chaos at the beginning of school hours. Parents are more aware of stopping their vehicles in the right place. According to statistics from Xuan Phuong Commune Police, in the past, there were usually about 30 cases of violations that the unit contacted parents to handle, but now it has decreased significantly, with only a few cases of reminders, and students are also more self-aware when participating in traffic.
Principal Nguyen Thi Hai added: The school will continue to maintain and develop the above models to promote the role of each student in building a civilized traffic society, combining comprehensive life skills education with community awareness for students.
