The investment project to build Container Terminals No. 3 and 4 was started in July 2022, including 2 main terminals with a length of 750m, capable of receiving ships of 100,000DWT fully loaded and up to 200,000DWT partially loaded. The project also builds a barge terminal to receive ships, invests in technical infrastructure items, synchronous equipment, meeting the cargo throughput of up to 1.5 million TEU/year.
This is a key project, of great significance not only to Vietnam National Shipping Lines and Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company but also to the socio -economic development of Hai Phong City and the entire Northern key economic region; a new step forward in the competitiveness and global connectivity of Vietnam's logistics system.
This is also a strategic link in the national seaport development plan to 2030, with a vision to 2045, to realize the goal of making Vietnam a strong and rich country from the sea.
At the ceremony, Hai Phong City leaders pledged to always accompany and create all conditions for investors to build, operate and exploit the remaining ports of Lach Huyen Port and Nam Do Son Port. Hai Phong City leaders will also create conditions for businesses to invest in high-tech industrial parks, modern seaport services and logistics according to the green growth model, circular economy and sustainable development.

At the ceremony, President Luong Cuong and delegates attended the ceremony to press the button to inaugurate Lach Huyen International Container Terminal No. 3 and 4. The President also presented gifts and encouraged the leaders, officers and employees of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company.
