In the past 24 hours (May 5), heat waves occurred throughout the province with the highest temperature recorded at Tam Ky Meteorological Station (Tam Ky City) at 36.1°C, humidity 57%; at Tra My Meteorological Station (Bac Tra My District) at 36.4°C, humidity 52%.

Today and tomorrow (May 6-7), the heat wave will continue in many localities with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37°C, the lowest humidity from 50-60%. The period of intense heat (temperature above 35°C) is concentrated from 10am to 4pm.

Specifically, on May 6, the Northern plains (Hoi An, Dien Ban, Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Que Son) have temperatures of 34-36°C, humidity of 55-60%, hot from 11am to 2pm; the Southern plains (Thang Binh, Phu Ninh, Tam Ky, Nui Thanh) have temperatures of 35-37°C, humidity of 53-58%; the Northern mountainous areas (Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Nam Giang) have temperatures of 34-36°C, humidity of 55-60%; the Southern mountainous areas (Nam Tra My, Bac Tra My, Tien Phuoc, Phuoc Son, Hiep Duc, Nong Son) have temperatures of 35-37°C, humidity of 50-55%.

On May 7, the Northern plains will have a temperature of 34-36°C, humidity of 53-58%; the Southern plains will have a temperature of 35-37°C, humidity of 50-55%; the Northern mountainous areas will have a temperature of 35-37°C, humidity of 53-58%; the Southern mountainous areas will have a temperature of 35-37°C, humidity of 50-55%.

From May 8-10, the heat wave will continue to occur, but from May 10, it will gradually decrease in intensity and scope. The risk level due to heat wave is assessed at level 1. Heat wave can cause forest fires in the midlands and mountainous areas, explosions and fires in industrial zones and concentrated residential areas, and affect the health of people, crops and livestock. In the evening, there is a possibility of showers and thunderstorms, accompanied by dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

People need to proactively guard against extreme weather events, ensuring safety in daily life and production. Localities need to strengthen measures to prevent forest fires, explosions and protect public health.
