Keeping up with the development trend of the integration period and enhancing the value of traditional carpentry products, artisan Kieu Duc Thuong, Director of Hai Au Construction and Production Company Limited (An Tuong Commune, Vinh Tuong District) has produced a set of Hai Au ceramic incense burner towers, reproducing the model of the ceramic tower of Tro Pagoda - a national treasure of Vinh Phuc and the model of Binh Son Tower - a special national monument of architectural art of the province.
Recently, the product set was honored to be one of 6 products of Vinh Phuc recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as typical rural industrial products in the Northern region in 2024. This is also an opportunity for businesses to promote their products to a wider market.
To create a unique product that adapts to the development of the market, Mr. Thuong has painstakingly researched, designed, and fully restored the details of the ceramic tower of Tro pagoda in a 1:1 ratio; at the same time, he produced it on many wooden materials such as jackfruit, sua, xoan dao... to create a sharp work of art, contributing to widely promoting traditional craft village products, while bringing the image of heritage, relics, and unique cultural features of the land and people of Vinh Phuc to domestic friends as well as international tourists.
With its own unique features, the Hai Au ceramic incense burner set has been chosen by the Provincial People's Committee as a typical and symbolic gift of Vinh Phuc in a number of typical and important cultural events of the province such as as a gift for leaders of delegations from Asian countries at the VTVCab Cup Asian Club Volleyball Championship 2023 held at the Provincial Gymnasium; participating in the Conference to promote Vinh Phuc tourism destination - an impressive and safe destination held in 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City and many other important exhibitions in the country.
Ban Mach blacksmith village, Ly Nhan commune, Vinh Tuong district was recognized as a craft village by the Provincial People's Committee in 2006. Currently, the whole commune has 700 households practicing the craft.
To create new vitality for traditional crafts in the integration trend, craft households boldly invest in modern machinery and equipment to improve product quality; enhance trade promotion, advertising, and develop product consumption markets.
In particular, many households have both innovated technology and shifted to producing new products, combining engraving technology to create highlights, making traditional forged products not only meet simple usage needs but also become high-end products, valuable gifts in modern life.
Currently, each month the craft village welcomes 5-10 groups of visitors to visit and shop for products, most of whom are foreign visitors. In 2022, the delegation of Miss World Tourism contestants from various countries visited the craft village, helping to make the image of Ly Nhan blacksmith village known to many domestic and international friends.
Currently, forged products of the craft village are not only consumed domestically but also gradually exported to countries such as China, Laos... contributing to increasing income for households doing the craft.
Currently, the province has 29 craft villages recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, including 19 traditional craft villages; creating jobs for nearly 55,000 rural workers.
With timely support from Party committees, authorities and functional sectors, traditional craft villages are increasingly innovating technology, diversifying designs, improving product value, and affirming their position in the market, such as the snake craft village in Vinh Son commune (Vinh Tuong); the stone carving village in Hai Luu commune (Song Lo); the carpentry village in Thanh Lang town (Binh Xuyen) and An Tuong commune (Vinh Tuong); the bamboo and rattan weaving village in Cao Phong commune (Song Lo)...
In order for traditional craft villages to develop in the integration trend, the Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan No. 316 on implementing support for the preservation and development of traditional crafts and craft villages in the province for the period 2022-2025.
Accordingly, the province continues to promote support activities in terms of capital and technology, improve productivity and product quality, increase product competitiveness in the market; enhance promotion of craft village products through supply-demand connection conferences, exhibitions and fairs to expand the consumption market.
Registering for protection of geographical indications and collective trademarks of craft villages as a basis for promoting and developing craft village tourism; linking the conservation and development of craft villages with the tourism development program; building and forming craft village tourism routes and spots, creating destinations for tourists to visit, practice and experience traditional local craft activities.
