Nesta is amazed with Yamal

"Yamal is a special player, very few can play like him," Nesta commented on May 4. "At the age of 17, Yamal won the Euro. If you compare Yamal with other young players, it will do them a disservice. Yamal is not a player to be compared to. He is extraordinary."

Nesta is a legendary defender of Italian football and has faced many of the world's top strikers. The former AC Milan player was impressed by Yamal's talent and maturity in playing style at Barcelona.

At the age of 17, Yamal is making the whole of Europe admire. On May 1, this striker scored a super solo goal and hit the crossbar twice in Barcelona's 3-3 draw with Inter Milan in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Speaking after the match, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi admitted: "I have not seen a player like Yamal in the past 8-9 years. Inter had to send 3 players to mark Yamal."

Yamal and his teammates travel to Milan in midweek for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Inter. The teenager caused plenty of problems for Inzaghi's defence in the first leg and will be hoping to do the same at Giuseppe Meazza.

The 2024/25 season saw Yamal explode with 14 goals and 12 assists in 31 La Liga games. He and the Barcelona team are on the verge of winning the treble this season. The Catalan team won the Copa del Rey on April 27.
