
Delegates visited the exhibition space, introducing organic agricultural products and images and documents on organic agriculture at ISOP 2025.
Developing organic agriculture is not only a global trend but also a strategic choice for Vietnam to ensure food security, improve the quality of agricultural products and meet international standards, especially in the context of increasing impacts of climate change and the market's high demands on product quality, as well as the requirement for environmentally friendly production. Agricultural production practices in the Mekong Delta show that organic agricultural models not only create clean and safe agricultural products but also help increase value, expand export markets and promote sustainable production development. However, the development of production and consumption of organic agricultural products still faces difficulties and obstacles that need to be addressed promptly.
At the workshop, delegates were updated and provided with information on the current situation and development orientation of organic agriculture in the provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta. Opportunities and challenges in developing organic agriculture, as well as sharing practices from models, projects and research results in organic rice cultivation and other crops in general in the Mekong Delta. Technical issues on organic fertilizers, soil management, biodiversity, and building a sustainable organic agricultural value chain.
The workshop also devoted a lot of time to exchange and discussion sessions so that delegates could propose solutions and initiatives to solve the "bottlenecks" for organic agricultural development, such as developing organic product consumption markets, preserving and processing products, tracing origins, and granting certification in organic production...
ISOP 2025 brings together more than 200 experts, scientists and representatives of domestic and foreign units and enterprises. This event is expected to help strengthen the close connection between academia, policy makers and the domestic and foreign business community. Thereby, promoting the connection and connection between the "four houses", including: the State, scientists, businesses and farmers. This is the key connection to turn knowledge into practical action, helping farmers access new technology, businesses expand investment opportunities and managers have more basis for policy making for organic agricultural development.
The solutions and recommendations at the workshop will also contribute to the effective implementation of the orientations and goals of the Project on sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region by 2030.
