Creativity in Youth Union work and youth movements

From mid-October until now, the Youth Union of the Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology has advised and organized the Student Sports Festival on the occasion of the Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20) and Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), attracting more than 750 students to participate in football, table tennis, badminton, tug of war, chess... After work, Ms. Hai Nghi participates in managing sports activities; encourages students to compete, creates a competitive atmosphere, and improves health.

Ms. Pham Thi Hai Nghi has worked at the school since 2022. In July 2024, she was elected to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Institute of Biotechnology and Food. Ms. Hai Nghi and the Executive Committee of the Youth Union organize many volunteer activities for community life, such as: visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services; giving scholarships and learning tools to help students overcome difficulties and study well; implementing the project "For a beautiful school for children"; mobilizing students to contribute to support people affected by natural disasters... Specifically, in early June 2025, the Youth Union coordinated with the Management Board of the Can Tho City Street Children's Club to implement the program "Love tutoring class" for children in the club. The class is maintained 3 sessions a week, attracting more than 130 union members and young people to participate. In August 2025, the Youth Union mobilized benefactors to support 1,000 notebooks and learning tools for 100 disadvantaged students at Hoa Tan 2 Primary School, Hoa Tan Commune, Dong Thap Province... Ha Hoang Gia Quan, a student majoring in Biotechnology, class 48, said: "The activities organized by the Youth Union help me both improve my health and raise my sense of responsibility towards my family and society. During the activities, Ms. Nghi always encouraged me and my fellow students to participate in Youth Union activities and study well."

In addition, Ms. Hai Nghi and the Executive Committee of the Youth Union regularly innovate and improve the effectiveness of the Youth Union and student movements through organizing volunteer programs related to professional skills; helping students practice according to the criteria of "5 Good Students"; effectively implementing traditional and legal education for union members on cyberspace... At the same time, coordinating with units to organize cultural and artistic exchange activities, traditional education for students; implementing the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign inside and outside the school...

For nearly 4 years, Ms. Pham Thi Hai Nghi has conducted 4 scientific research topics, such as: "Effect of arbuscular mycorrhiza on the growth of potted rice plants under unfavorable conditions of pH and irrigation water", "Effect of beneficial microorganisms and growth regulators on the growth, yield and quality of asparagus (Asparagus oficinalis L.) in greenhouse conditions", "Isolation and selection of phosphorus-dissolving and nitrogen-fixing microorganisms from organic sources for the preparation of microbial organic fertilizers" and "Building a high-tech vegetable production model in the direction of organic farming at the Hau Giang High-Tech Agricultural Zone". In addition, Ms. Hai Nghi participated in 10 articles published in domestic and foreign journals. Ms. Hai Nghi shared: “In the coming time, I will continue to participate in researching high-tech vegetable production models; coordinate with faculty and school unions to carry out organic composting projects to fertilize green trees in the school. At the same time, I and the Youth Union Executive Committee will continue to organize Youth Union activities suitable for the major and study time for students to practice their skills.”

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Pha, Secretary of the Youth Union of Can Tho University, Ms. Pham Thi Hai Nghi is a dynamic Youth Union officer, always demonstrating a pioneering spirit in Youth Union work and youth movements; has many outstanding achievements in scientific research and technology transfer; at the same time, actively organizes and participates in volunteer programs inside and outside the school, a shining example for Youth Union officers and students to learn from.
