(CLO) The photo series "Autumn in Hanoi " by 9X guy Pham Tu (born in 1994, Thai Binh) immediately after posting received a storm of compliments from the online community such as: "Hanoi is so beautiful and romantic", "I really miss Hanoi", "Hanoi is always in my heart" ...

'Autumn in Hanoi' touches viewers' emotions

In the song "Hanoi and you when autumn and early winter come" by the late musician Phu Quang, there is a line "Autumn is very real autumn when early winter comes". That's right, at the time when Hanoi stirs and changes seasons, seemingly simple images such as autumn fruit vendors, iced tea shops on the roadside in the golden autumn sunlight... all become very poetic and romantic through the lens of the male photographer.

Born and raised in Thai Binh , Pham Tu (born in 1994) has worked in Hanoi for 10 years, and photography came to Tu as an unexpected fate. Tu started taking photos in 2019, the more he took photos of Hanoi, the more passionate he became about composing about Hanoi without realizing it.

"In the early days of photography, I didn't have the means to buy a professional camera, so I still used my phone to capture the moments of the places I visited. About 2 years later, I got my first camera and gradually took pictures through the camera lens," Tu recalls.

Many times, wandering alone through the alleys of Hanoi, Tu realized that each season here has its own characteristics, creating the specialness of Hanoi. Hanoi in all 4 seasons is beautiful, poetic and romantic.

Spring is warm, nature awakens after a winter sleep, trees sprout, flowers bloom brilliantly. Summer comes with its quick rains, with rows of purple Lagerstroemia trees blooming or the sound of cicadas chirping under the Royal Poinciana trees signaling an exam season. And in the cold winter, Hanoi is ancient, shrouded in mist, making the scenery seem both dreamlike and real.

Autumn is Tu's favorite season, not only because of the cool weather, but also because the scenery of Hanoi is fresher and gentler. For Tu, autumn in Hanoi has become a very special memory in his journey to photography.

Although he has taken many photos of Hanoi, all of them are familiar scenes, but according to Tu, each different time and moment will give a different perspective, a photo with different emotions. And when he has fallen in love with Hanoi, even though the scenes have been marked by time, the young man still has special emotions every time he takes the photo.

Therefore, each of his photos always evokes sincerity, closeness and peace… touching the emotions of viewers, especially those who have spent time in Hanoi, then left Hanoi. That longing always lingers in the mind.

With his love for this city, through the autumn photo series, Tu wants to bring a simple perspective, where we just need to slow down and take time to feel, Hanoi is worth loving even though Hanoi still has traffic jams, dust, crowds and chaos.

"Hanoi is not only where I live, but also where I learned how to love and grow up. The small streets, the roadside shops, the sunny afternoons or the sudden rains all make my heart love more. I learned how to listen and understand, to cherish the moments with friends and family. It is also here that I learned how to love and grow up.

If one day I have to leave Hanoi, there will probably be many things that I will miss, because in my heart I consider Hanoi as a soul mate that I have been attached to for many years of my youth. There will be journeys, memories and people that I have met that I will never forget," Tu confided.
