As Dan Tri reported, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency ( Economic Police Department) has just issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case, prosecute the accused and issue an order to temporarily detain Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan (Ngan 98) for the crime of Producing and trading in counterfeit food products, according to Article 193 of the Penal Code.

According to the police, Ngan 98 established ZuBu Trading and Service Company Limited and the business household ZuBu Shop, but let others be the directors, including her biological mother. In reality, all operations, finances, and business activities were directly directed and benefited by Ngan 98.

Since 2021, Ngan has cooperated with a number of factories in Hanoi to order the processing of health protection and weight loss products such as Super Detox X3, X7, X1000.

On paper, these products were licensed for circulation, but Ngan took advantage of the "free gift" scheme to sell another product called "Collagen vegetable pills".

This vegetable pill is not licensed for circulation, has no product declaration file, but Ngan still packaged and labeled it with the same brand name X3, X7, X1000, and advertised it as "increasing weight loss effectiveness when used together".

The products are advertised to contain "100% natural ingredients", "quick weight loss of 3-5 kg ​​per course", "no side effects", effective for people with "hard to lose weight"...

Customers are advised to buy a "weight loss program" from 4kg to 15kg, each product set includes a box of X3, X7, X1000 and a corresponding Collagen package, priced from 870,000 VND to 1.1 million VND.

On the packaging, the merchant responsible for product quality and distribution is ZuBu Company. The barcode printed on the product is linked to the online shopping website shopngan98.com. This website posts products for sale along with prices, beneficiary bank accounts Vietcombank, Techcombank registered in the name of Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan.

Goods are sold to customers in two ways. One is to sell directly at the ZuBu Shop business store. The other is that Ngan directly sells to customers through her personal Facebook and TikTok accounts named Ngan 98 and through the ZuBu Company hotline.

The sales proceeds were transferred through many accounts of Ngan's relatives and employees to conceal the cash flow, before being concentrated in her personal account, according to the investigation agency. The Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency also stated that from 2023 to July 2024, Ngan collected a total of about 120 billion VND in sales proceeds.

The product is introduced as being manufactured at a GMP-standard factory in Dan Phuong Industrial Park (Hanoi); Zubu Trading and Service Company Limited in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, is responsible for quality and distribution.

The appraisal results of the Institute of Criminal Science - Ministry of Public Security determined that the products produced and traded by Ngan did not meet the announced quality standards and were counterfeit goods.

Some samples of "Collagen pills" contain banned substances sibutramine and phenolphthalein - active ingredients that can cause cardiovascular disorders, high blood pressure, digestive disorders and potential cancer risks, seriously affecting the health of consumers.
