Vietnam Bank for Social Policies summarizes activities in 2023

(LĐ online) - On January 26, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) Lam Dong branch summarized its activities in 2023 and deployed tasks for 2024.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thu - Deputy Director in charge of the Social Policy Bank, Lam Dong branch, awarded units that excellently completed their tasks in 2023.

As of December 31, 2023, the VBSP has a total capital source of over VND 5,800 billion, an increase of 16.9%; total outstanding loans of over VND 5,604 billion, with 100,071 poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries with outstanding loans, an increase of 17.9% compared to the beginning of the year; total overdue debt and frozen debt account for 0.16% of total outstanding loans...; savings and loan groups are classified as good 97.88%, good 1.87%, average 0.24%, no groups are classified as poor; 142 commune transaction points carry out work procedures, information on credit policy programs, interest rates, outstanding debt, hotline addresses... fully and promptly publicized in accordance with regulations, assessing the quality and efficiency of commune transaction activities at 98.22 points (an increase of 0.38 points compared to 2022)...

In 2023, the VBSP has done a good job of advising the Provincial People's Committee to perfect the Representative Board, implement the VBSP Development Strategy to 2030, supplement the local budget to transfer the trust to the branch; direct and operate the branch closely following the goals and operational orientations of the VBSP; deploy disbursement of policy credit programs to poor households, near-poor households and other policy subjects in production and business, create jobs, maintain and expand jobs, clean water and rural environmental sanitation...

Inspection and supervision work; training, coaching, scientific research and information and propaganda work; information technology work; staff organization work, emulation and rewards and a number of other key tasks... are also carried out seriously, fully and promptly.

In 2023, with the attention and direction of the VBSP, local Party committees and authorities, and representative boards at all levels; the responsible coordination of agencies, sectors, and socio-political organizations; and the efforts of the collective of workers, civil servants, and employees, the Branch has fully completed the assigned plan targets and tasks.

The branch was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies for excellently completing tasks in the first quarter, 6 months, and 9 months of 2023; is the most outstanding unit in the Central Highlands region, the 3rd most outstanding unit in the entire system; and was proposed to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee and the Emulation Flag of the State Bank.

Social policy credit capital has created conditions for 1,134 poor households, 4,165 near-poor households, and 2,985 newly escaped-poverty households to borrow capital to invest in production; created jobs and increased employment for 9,085 workers, 3,276 student families borrowed capital to cover study expenses, helped 11,366 households in rural areas build clean water facilities and standard toilets, 575 households in ethnic minority and mountainous areas borrowed capital according to Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP, 72 people who had completed their prison sentences borrowed capital...

Policy credit programs have contributed to reducing the province's poverty rate to 1.09% by the end of 2023 (down 0.85% compared to 2022). The whole province has 109 communes meeting new rural construction standards, 41 advanced new rural communes and 16 model new rural communes, 5 districts meeting new rural standards, 2 cities completing the task of building new rural areas.

In 2024, the People's Credit Fund will set out credit plan targets and key tasks; propose many solutions to organize task implementation, associated with emulation and reward assessment for each collective and individual, in order to comprehensively complete the assigned plan targets.

In particular, the Branch will coordinate well with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Labor Federation and socio-political organizations entrusted to send propaganda, calling on cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers of the unit and people of all walks of life to participate in successfully organizing "Month of savings deposits to join hands for the poor" in 2024; at the same time, continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop a resolution to implement Directive No. 40-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit...
