Banks urgently deploy solutions to support customers in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has just issued an official dispatch requesting credit institutions, foreign bank branches (referred to as credit institutions) and SBV branches in Regions (8, 9, 10, 11) to urgently deploy solutions to support customers in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Accordingly, the SBV's dispatch clearly stated that, implementing the Prime Minister 's direction in Official Dispatch No. 214/CD-TTg dated November 12, 2025 on urgently compiling statistics, assessing damage and focusing on overcoming the consequences of storms and floods in the Central region; Official Dispatch No. 215/CD-TTg dated November 13, 2025 on focusing on restoring production and business, stabilizing people's lives after storms and floods in the Central region, the SBV requested credit institutions, foreign bank branches (referred to as credit institutions) and SBV branches in Regions (8, 9, 10, 11) to implement a number of contents to promptly overcome and support customers affected by natural disasters.

Specifically, continue to deploy and implement solutions to support and remove difficulties according to the direction of the State Bank in Official Dispatch No. 9651/NHNN-TD dated November 4, 2025 for customers in the Central region affected by storms No. 12 and 13 and floods in October and November 2025 (additional provinces and cities including: Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak , Lam Dong).

Credit institutions proactively review the situation of damage to customers' loans to promptly report to the State Bank branches in the area to advise the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct relevant organizations and individuals in the area to complete documents, procedures, and debt cancellation procedures (if any) according to the provisions of Decree 55/2015/ND-CP dated June 9, 2015 of the Government on credit policy for agricultural and rural development, amended and supplemented by Decree No. 116/2018/ND-CP dated September 7, 2018, Decree No. 156/2025/ND-CP dated June 16, 2025 and Circular 29/2025/TT-NHNN dated September 30, 2025 of the State Bank.

The State Bank also requests the Chairman of the Board of Directors/Board of Members, General Directors of credit institutions and Directors of State Bank branches in the above-mentioned Regions to promptly implement. During the implementation process, if difficulties or problems arise beyond their authority, credit institutions and State Bank branches in the Regions must promptly report to the State Bank for consideration and handling.
