According to the Dong Nai Province Land Fund Development Center, by November 26, it had mobilized people to hand over 106 plots of land, equivalent to more than 1.3 hectares, equal to nearly 31% of the total area to be recovered for the project.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project, part of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, is nearly 22 km long, of which the section passing through Dong Nai is 13 km long. To serve the construction, the province must reclaim more than 4 hectares of land with 394 plots in Nhon Trach, Long Thanh and An Phuoc communes.

The authorities have completed the measurement, cadastral mapping, and handed over technical documents and land plot information to the implementing unit. At the same time, the counting, compensation, support and resettlement records have been completed for 140 land plots (nearly 1.6 hectares), reaching more than 35% of the total number of plots of the project.
Regarding resettlement, Long Thanh commune has 27 households with houses that have been counted. The list has been sent to the Long Thanh commune People's Committee to prepare a file for resettlement consideration according to regulations. Land valuation is being carried out but there is currently no draft price plan.
The Provincial Land Fund Development Center said Dong Nai will hand over the entire site to the investor in December 2025.
Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) has approved the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway expansion project with a total investment of nearly VND15,000 billion, to be implemented from 2025 to 2027. Of which, public investment capital accounts for VND6,500 billion; VEC capital is nearly VND1,700 billion and commercial loan capital is more than VND6,700 billion.
The project will expand approximately 22 km, widening the route to both sides, with the section across Long Thanh bridge expanding downstream. The section of Ring Road 2 - Ring Road 3 (4.8 km) will increase from 4 to 8 lanes; the section of Ring Road 3 - Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway (14.7 km) will expand from 4 to 10 lanes. The project will also build a new Long Thanh bridge, more than 2.3 km long, with 5 lanes, in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, on the right side of the existing bridge.
