Accordingly, EVN issued Official Dispatch No. 7025/CD-EVN, thoroughly implementing the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant authorities on overcoming floods and preparing for storms.
EVN requires units to strengthen weather forecast monitoring; implement the "4 on-site" motto; fully prepare human resources, materials, and communications; ensure safety for people and the power system; prioritize power restoration for important loads, medical facilities, communications, and disaster prevention works.
According to EVN's direction, power grid units must strengthen the system, warn of the risk of landslides and deep flooding at stations and power lines in vulnerable areas; and not turn on the power again until safety is ensured.
Hydropower units organize monitoring and operate reservoirs according to procedures, ensuring safety of works and downstream areas; while thermal power plants strengthen inspection of drainage systems, roofs and fuel reserves. EVN also requires the Project Management Board to proactively ensure safety of construction sites, cover equipment and prepare necessities for on-duty forces.
Implementing the direction of EVN and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVNNPT issued Official Dispatch No. 6018/CD-EVNNPT requesting the entire power transmission force to maintain the highest level of readiness.
EVNNPT requires power transmission companies to review and reinforce the power grid, handle vulnerable points; arrange staff to operate at stations at risk of flooding; ensure smooth communication and prepare adequate equipment and materials according to the "4 on-site" motto.
In particular, Power Transmission Companies 2 and 3 are required to develop a storm response plan on-site, increase on-duty staff, check the self-consumption system and be ready to quickly restore power when safety conditions are met. EVNNPT's Project Management Boards must check drainage, clear the flow, cover items, fix technical problems and ensure absolute safety for people and equipment.
Both EVN and EVNNPT require updating the situation and damage data to the SMIS system (safety management system) according to the time frames before 7:00, 13:00 and 19:00 every day; at the same time, emphasize the responsibility to provide full and accurate information to the press and support people in disaster areas in the spirit of solidarity and mutual love.
The simultaneous issuance of urgent dispatches shows that the electricity sector is activating a high level of disaster prevention mechanisms, ensuring system safety and being ready to restore power supply as quickly as possible, in the context of complicated flood developments in the Central region and the possibility of storm KALMAEGI causing impacts in the coming days.
