With the message “Vietnam Timeless Charm-Authentic Experiences, Embracing Green Heritage”, the program to introduce Vietnam tourism and connect businesses in the Australian market will be held in Sydney and Melbourne.
The detailed outline of this task has just been approved by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong. This is the result of Vietnam recently becoming the top choice of Australian tourists, thanks to its advantages in cost, diverse and interesting experiences and being a safe and friendly destination.
Strengthening Vietnam destination recognition
The main contents of the Ministry's promotional plan this time include: Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting program; introducing Vietnamese tourism; performing traditional arts; meeting and working with partners in the host country (tourism promotion agencies, airlines, large tourism businesses...).
Vietnam's image will be promoted in Sydney and Melbourne with a focus on safety, friendliness, attractiveness and sustainability, with diverse products such as eco-tourism, heritage, experience and health care; establishing, maintaining and effectively developing relationships with travel businesses, the Australian Tourism Association and specialized media agencies in the Australian market.
This is an effort to enhance the recognition and positioning of Vietnam's tourism brand in the Australian market, contributing to enhancing the country's image on the international tourism map; strengthening connections, creating cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese tourism businesses and Australian partners, supporting businesses to expand markets, develop suitable products; grasp and research the Australian market, as a basis for developing products suitable to tourists' tastes.

Industry leaders expect the program to directly contribute to the goal of welcoming at least 600,000 Australian visitors in 2025, corresponding to a growth rate of 25% compared to 2024; increasing the market share of Australian visitors to Vietnam from the current 4% to at least 5% in 2025.
Not only does it facilitate and promote 50-70% of Vietnamese tourism businesses participating in the event to establish connections, sign cooperation agreements or reach preliminary agreements with partners, the promotion program is also an effort to maintain and promote the presence of the Vietnamese tourism brand "Vietnam Timeless Charm" in the land of kangaroos, especially the message "Authentic Experiences, Embracing Green Heritage" and cultural and heritage tourism products (in which Hue products are the focus).
Previously, in the plan to organize tourism promotion activities in 2024, Australia was identified by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the key markets, along with Japan, Korea, India, China, ASEAN, UK, North America and Europe.
Why is Vietnam attractive to Australian tourists?
In recent years, Vietnam has become a top destination for tourists from Australia. According to statistics recently released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the number of Australians traveling to Vietnam increased by 54% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to 2019.
Figures from online booking platform Klook also show a surge of up to 250% in the number of Australian tourists booking rooms in Vietnam in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

The Australian Tourism Association also emphasized that Vietnam is becoming the fastest growing market for tourists from the kangaroo country with a growth rate of 28%, faster than the Japanese market (17%) and China (12%).
So what makes the S-shaped strip of land chosen by many Australian tourists? It is the price competitiveness for food and travel services but the quality and rich experiences. For example, while Australian tourists have to spend more than 5000 AUD to experience 10 days in Bali, in Vietnam they only spend 2000 AUD - 3000 AUD for a 14-day trip. The price and quality of the experience is what makes any Australian tourist impressed when coming to Vietnam.
Not only the cost advantage, the stability of the Australian dollar against the Vietnamese dong is also the reason why Vietnam becomes a cost-saving destination.
Experts say that Vietnam is now truly an ideal tourist destination for visitors from the land of kangaroos thanks to direct flights from Australia operated by low-cost airlines such as Jetstar and Vietjet, or by traditional airlines such as Vietnam Airlines and Qantas; delicious and cheap food, luxurious but affordable tourist resorts and cruises; friendly and hospitable people...

The most searched destinations in Vietnam include Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Ha Long Bay and Hoi An.
Destinations that contain countless unique and memorable experiences of the intersection between tradition and modernity (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City); Hoi An ancient town with its unique ancient beauty; Da Lat is cool and relaxing; Da Nang has both a luxurious beauty by the sea and a historical color with its relics; Hue ancient capital with its elaborately preserved Imperial Citadel…/.
