Amidst the vibrant atmosphere leading up to the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, Hanoi has recorded impressive growth in tourism .
Accordingly, in the past eight months, Hanoi is estimated to have welcomed 21.58 million visitors (an increase of 13.9% compared to the same period last year); total tourism revenue reached nearly 86,000 billion VND, an increase of 17.1% compared to 2024.
Of these, international visitors accounted for 4.96 million arrivals (a 25.8% increase, including 3.49 million overnight stays), while domestic visitors reached 16.62 million arrivals (a 10.7% increase). Total tourism revenue for the entire city reached nearly 86,000 billion VND (a 17.1% increase compared to 2024).
In August 2025 alone, the capital city welcomed approximately 3.18 million visitors (a 27.5% increase compared to the same period last year), including 709,220 international visitors (a 42.6% increase), with 500,000 overnight stays.
Domestic tourists also increased sharply, reaching 2.47 million, boosting total tourism revenue in August to VND 12.54 trillion (31.5% higher than the same period last year). The average hotel occupancy rate reached 59%.
Alongside these achievements, the Hanoi Department of Tourism is urgently finalizing the Project on reforming the management, preservation, and promotion of the value of the Huong Son National Special Monument Area (Huong Pagoda), and at the same time, the plan to launch new tourism products with the theme "Hanoi Tourism - The Quintessence of Convergence 2025" is also being implemented.
According to information from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, September will feature many unique cultural and tourism events such as: Hanoi Beverage Festival 2025, Hanoi Autumn Festival 2025, and Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2025.
On an international level, Hanoi will participate in the ITE International Tourism Fair in Ho Chi Minh City, ITB India, IFTM Top Resa (France), as well as promotional activities for Vietnamese tourism in the Indian and French markets.
The city is also promoting local cooperation, developing training plans and conducting surveys to connect destinations with travel businesses. Many new products are being developed, such as agricultural tourism, rural tourism, community tourism associated with ethnic minority cultures, night tourism products, and unique destinations like the Hanoi Beer Museum.
This series of activities and plans shows that Hanoi is proactively reinventing itself, so that tourism not only grows in terms of visitor numbers but also aims to elevate the experience, affirming its position as a leading cultural tourism destination, a convergence of the finest elements in the region.
