The prosecution industry strives to fulfill professional targets.

“The provincial People's Procuracy strives to complete and exceed professional targets according to the Professional Performance Evaluation Indicator System of the sector by the end of the year; further improve the quality of prosecution work in handling administrative and civil cases; and increase the quantity and quality of protests and recommendations” - Director of the An Giang Provincial People's Procuracy Huynh Dong Bac emphasized.

Right from the beginning of the year, the People's Procuracy at 2 levels has developed a plan to implement key and breakthrough contents; closely coordinated with judicial agencies to seriously implement. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the crime situation in the province has decreased in the number of cases, but increased in the number of defendants. During the period, the whole sector has exercised the right to prosecute and supervise the prosecution of 801 cases, 1,362 defendants (a decrease of 57 cases, an increase of 124 defendants). The most common are still economic , property, and environmental crimes (accounting for 45.2%). In particular, the group of drug crimes increased compared to the same period (28.3%).

Civil, marriage and family disputes increased by 1,136 cases, down 16 cases. The most common disputes were still divorce (3,712 cases), disputes over property loan contracts, savings and credit contracts (2,217 cases), disputes over land use rights, reclaiming residential land, donating and transferring land use rights (595 cases), and inheritance division (110 cases). The number of administrative cases, commercial and labor cases accepted increased by 41 cases and 4 cases compared to the same period. The content of labor disputes increased many times, mainly disputes over compensation for wages and salaries when terminating labor contracts. Common commercial cases were disputes over credit contracts and business cooperation contracts. For administrative lawsuits, the main content was complaints about administrative decisions and administrative acts in the field of land management.

Regarding the settlement of civil, marriage and family cases, the entire sector accepted to supervise the settlement of 11,515 cases and 59 cases under first instance procedures (an increase of 1,136 cases and 16 cases over the same period); accepted to supervise the settlement of 351 cases under appeal procedures (an increase of 88 cases). The People's Procuracy at two levels sent prosecutors to participate in 1,168 court sessions, 25 meetings, 42 meetings to consider overdue appeals; issued 55 documents requesting the court at the same level to collect additional evidence and documents, and to add participants in the proceedings. Most of the requests of the People's Procuracy were implemented by the court.

Rewarding outstanding individuals in all aspects of work

Through inspection, 5 appeals were issued at the same level (4 fewer than the same period); 29 recommendations were issued (4 more than the same period); 19 were requested to correct violations and 10 were requested to prevent violations; and the court coordinated with the organization of 36 trial sessions to draw lessons. In the work of combating injustice, mistakes, and omissions of criminals, the unit regularly strengthens the role and responsibility of leaders in managing the work of supervising investigation activities; regularly inspects and strictly manages criminal cases, proactively monitors and supervises the content and progress of case settlement. Improve the quality of investigation requests, strengthen coordination with investigators to question or directly question the accused to check and evaluate evidence, determine the crime, the way to handle the case, the accused, clarify evidence, incriminating and exculpating circumstances; request additional investigation if necessary; minimize injustice, mistakes, and omissions of criminals. During the period, there were no cases prosecuted by the People's Procuracy and the court declared the defendant not guilty.

In addition, the leadership of the Provincial People's Procuracy has promoted the spirit of initiative and creativity in management, direction and operation, clearly defined goals, specified tasks for each unit to perform well, fully, effectively and on time. Since then, the first months of 2025 have completed and exceeded many targets assigned by the industry and the National Assembly . Most notably, the coordination between provincial judicial agencies organized the signing of many coordination regulations, such as: Coordination regulations in handling criminal cases, administrative cases, civil cases between the Provincial People's Procuracy and the Provincial People's Court; in receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations in judicial activities; in receiving citizens at the Provincial Citizen Reception Committee; in criminal proceedings, management, temporary detention, temporary detention and execution of criminal sentences when there is no district-level police force.

In the coming time, the whole industry will continue to strengthen the role and responsibility of leaders in managing the work of supervising investigation activities; regularly inspect and strictly manage criminal cases; promote digital transformation, strive to implement a set of indicators to assess digital transformation in the people's procuracy with high results. Along with that, strengthen propaganda and training to raise awareness and level of digital transformation; promote digitalization of case files and reports using mind maps; gradually process 100% of documents on the document management and operation system.

In particular, strengthen the responsibility of prosecution, closely supervise judicial activities, ensure compliance with legal regulations; minimize wrongful convictions and missed crimes. Coordinate with competent authorities to speed up the resolution of cases, especially economic and corruption cases, positions under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity at all levels.
