Lam Dong Health Sector strengthens response, urgently overcomes consequences of floods

On November 26, Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health continued to direct units in the whole sector to focus on implementing response measures and promptly overcoming the consequences of the complicated floods in the area.

Lam Dong Health Department coordinated with the medical force of Military Region 7 and the Provincial Military Command to survey and handle the environment after floods in Don Duong and D'ran communes.

According to the direction, medical units must thoroughly grasp and strictly implement documents of the Government, Ministry of Health , Provincial People's Committee and Department of Health on disaster prevention and control during the 2025 storm season.

Heads of units must enhance their sense of responsibility, absolutely not be subjective or negligent; proactively and effectively deploy tasks of preventing and overcoming consequences of natural disasters according to the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health and the province.

Units are reviewing and supplementing disaster prevention and search and rescue plans according to each risk level such as widespread heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides. At the same time, they proactively monitor weather developments to promptly direct and deploy response measures and overcome consequences according to the motto "four on-site" and "three ready".

Units are required to strictly implement the on-duty regime, external emergency duty and logistics duty; maintain full communication channels, ensuring no interruptions during natural disasters, especially during the rainy and stormy season. The Command Board and the unit's disaster prevention and control standing force organize 24/24 hours on duty.

At the same time, strengthen the Foreign Emergency Team, Mobile Epidemic Prevention Team and other rescue forces with adequate medicine, supplies, equipment and means to be ready to be present at the scene, promptly coordinate with local rescue forces when situations arise.

Immediately deploy plans to ensure emergency care, transportation, admission, and treatment; disperse and evacuate facilities, medical staff, and patients to safe places in cases of natural disasters and major catastrophes that threaten the lives of people and medical facilities.

The Provincial Department of Health also directed the Provincial Center for Disease Control to coordinate and direct the Regional and Special Zone Health Centers to guide their subordinate units to use chemicals, medicines, equipment, and necessary medical supplies to ensure epidemic prevention and control, and to prevent outbreaks of epidemics after natural disasters and storms and floods. Propagate and guide people to implement measures to ensure environmental hygiene and safety, and food hygiene to avoid outbreaks of epidemics due to the effects of storms and floods according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
