Faced with severe damage caused by floods in Lam Dong province, the Quang Ninh health sector has deployed the largest-ever mobilization of human resources and medical supplies to promptly support the neighboring province.
Quang Ninh Department of Health has urgently reviewed the resources of the entire sector and mobilized human resources in the fastest time. On the afternoon of November 22, all supplies of about 3,000 kg of Cloramin B from hospitals and medical centers in the area; 30,000 Aquatabs tablets, 500 kg of alum, 100 life jackets, 50 raincoats and 300 pairs of specialized boots were ready to be transported to the flood-affected areas as directed. The packaging, classification and quality inspection of supplies were carried out carefully and quickly to ensure that they could be transported as soon as the provincial working group moved to Lam Dong province. This demonstrates the great sense of responsibility and initiative of Quang Ninh province towards the people in the disaster-affected areas.
The leaders of the Department of Health also directly participated in the provincial working group to Lam Dong province to grasp the actual situation in flooded areas, assess the need for medicine, clean water and the risk of epidemics after floods.
According to the Quang Ninh Department of Health, more than 250 medical staff have been put on standby, including 66 doctors, 132 nurses, 9 preventive medical staff and forces from commune and ward health stations. These are experienced personnel who have participated in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic and supported many localities in recent natural disasters, and are capable of working in difficult and complicated conditions.
Along with the activities of the health sector, communes, wards, special zones and a large number of people in Quang Ninh actively mobilized and donated to support the people of the Central region. Tons of goods were continuously received, classified and prepared to be sent to the flood center on the night of November 22 and November 23, contributing to sharing the difficulties with people who are heavily affected by natural disasters.
