On June 4, a parent whose child took the 10th grade entrance exam in Nam Dan District ( Nghe An Province) said that he had sent a petition to the Board of Directors of Nam Dan 2 High School (Nam Dan District), reporting that a teacher who was invigilating at this exam site had inappropriate behavior during the 10th grade entrance exam.
According to this parent, during the literature exam on the morning of June 3, at the Nam Dan 2 High School exam site, teacher TVD (a teacher at Nam Dan 2 High School) who was in charge of the exam proctoring spoke contemptuously to the students. When a candidate asked for more exam papers, instead of supporting or encouraging him, teacher D. said, "Why study so much, you'll end up working for hire or as a factory worker."
Not only that, when another teacher in the same room signed the student's papers, Mr. D. sarcastically said: "You love your job!".

"After the exam, my child returned home feeling sad, disappointed, and somewhat confused. As a parent, I could not help but express my deep indignation and concern after hearing my child recount what happened in the exam room. This statement is truly insulting and damaging to students' self-esteem, especially when they are in a stressful exam situation and need encouragement, not judgment," this parent expressed.
This parent also said that he really hopes that the school's Board of Directors will seriously consider the matter and take measures to remind and discipline teachers in the school, especially those directly involved in invigilation, to understand their responsibilities and influence on students.
"I believe that even though students may not get high scores or fail to get into top schools, they deserve to be respected and encouraged, not looked down upon and judged with prejudice," this parent wrote.
This parent's feedback was shared on social networks, causing many people to be dissatisfied with the teacher's statement above.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, said that after the above information was posted on social media, on the evening of June 3, the Department requested Nam Dan 2 High School to investigate. The school leaders then asked teacher TVD to make a report and this teacher admitted to making such statements.
The examination board's leadership suspended teacher D. from invigilating the English exam on the morning of June 4. "The Department has requested the examination board to thoroughly understand the regulations, requiring invigilators to fulfill their role as invigilators, encourage students, and not make inappropriate statements that affect students' psychology and theeducational environment," said Mr. Hoan.
This year's 10th grade entrance exam in Nghe An was held on June 3 and 4 with 39,130 candidates registering to take the exam at 69 public schools.
