Many schools in Nghe An had their roofs blown off after storm No. 10.

The circulation of storm No. 10 caused many villages in Nghe An to be flooded, with water everywhere and many schools in the area also suffered the same fate. After the flood receded, officials and teachers of schools in the area urgently cleaned up and sanitized classrooms to welcome students back to school.

As a school that was heavily damaged by storm No. 3, now Muong Tip Kindergarten (Muong Tip commune, Nghe An) is seriously flooded by storm No. 10.

Ms. Pham Thi Hong, Principal of Muong Tip Kindergarten, said: We have just overcome the consequences of the historic flood at the end of July for more than a month to start the new school year in time, but now storm No. 10 has caused the school to be deeply flooded, and teaching equipment has been severely damaged. On September 29 and 30, the floodwaters were deep. Today, October 1, the water has basically receded, and local authorities and villagers have supported the school in cleaning up and overcoming the consequences of the flood. However, because the school was deeply flooded and the water rose quickly on the day off, all teaching materials, equipment, school supplies, and blankets of teachers and students were completely damaged.

On the morning of October 1, nearly 100 teachers, villagers and functional forces in the commune were mobilized to support Muong Tip Kindergarten to urgently overcome storm and flood damage.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Hong: The current work mainly focuses on cleaning up the mud and dirt from the school yard, washing tables and chairs, classrooms, and cutting down corrugated iron sheets that were blown off the roofs of classrooms by storms. The work of replacing water-soaked teaching equipment, repairing damaged facilities, etc. is facing many difficulties because the current funding source mainly depends on the school or from other sources of support.

In the highland communes of Nghe An, many schools such as Yen Hoa Ethnic Boarding School had their fences collapsed, and the Pa Ty village school (Yen Tinh Primary School, Yen Na commune) had serious landslides.

Thu Thuy Primary School was one of the most severely damaged units in Cua Lo education , with 2 classrooms having their roofs blown off, and high tides causing flooding of more than 1 meter.

At Nghi Thu Primary School, storm No. 10 blew off the roof and damaged 3 classrooms and many trees in the school were broken. After 1 day, the repair work is being urgently carried out by teachers, parents and officers and soldiers of the North Central Mobile Police Regiment. In the morning, 8 trees that were broken in the school were pruned and cleaned up. The entire school campus is also being cleaned to be completed within the day.
