The Ho Chi Minh City Lion Dance Federation, together with Chinese guilds, art troupes and artisans, have for a long time been promoting the proposal to recognize the Lion Dance as a national intangible cultural heritage.

These units have organized research, collected and standardized documents on Lion and Dragon Dance; conducted surveys and research on the history, origin, performance techniques, costumes, and props; recorded, photographed and archived documents on performances, artists, clubs and related events; coordinated the organization of competitions that attracted a large number of people to participate, creating prestige, contributing to enhancing the cultural value of Lion and Dragon Dance and developing tourism , attracting domestic and foreign tourists...

Ho Chi Minh City has 7 more historical-cultural relics

Recognizing the role of the Lion Dance performance art and the efforts to preserve and promote the cultural beauty of this art form, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Cultural Heritage decided to include the Chinese Lion Dance performance art in Ho Chi Minh City in the list of national intangible heritage.
