A series of destinations stretching from North to South recorded a sharp increase in the number of visitors, especially coastal and island areas such as Phu Quoc, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Ha Long... with accommodation occupancy reaching 100%, tourism revenue skyrocketing compared to the same period last year.

In particular, in many places, light rain still does not stop the flow of tourists going to celebrate the holiday.

Phu Quoc: Room occupancy rate reaches over 60%

On May 2, the Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that from April 30 to May 2, Phu Quoc Island alone welcomed more than 146 domestic and international flights to the island; Bai Vong port had about 43 ferries and speedboats arriving and departing (estimated number of passengers 10,000 - 12,000/day).

This number of visitors does not include those who traveled by air to Phu Quoc. Two days ago, Phu Quoc had light rain, but visitors still wore raincoats to celebrate the holiday.

On May 2, famous entertainment spots in Phu Quoc such as Hon bridge, Hoang Hon town (An Thoi ward), Phu Quoc Safari area, Grand World Phu Quoc area, island tours, coral diving at May Rut Ngoai island, May Rut Trong island, Gam Ghi island and Ngoc Hien Treasure (in Rach Vem commune)... were all crowded with tourists coming to experience and have fun.

Ms. Le Thanh Nhi, a tourist from An Giang , said that she had many days off for the April 30 and May 1 holidays, so she and her family chose to take a speedboat to Phu Quoc Island to have fun and were impressed when the Hon Bridge and Hoang Hon town had many international tourists from Korea, China, etc. coming to have fun.

Mr. Bui Quoc Thai, Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism, informed that units forecast that tourist destinations in the north and south of the island will have a 30-40% increase in the number of visitors compared to the same period in 2024.

On April 30 and May 1 alone, Kien Giang is estimated to welcome more than 150,000 visitors, including about 12,000 international visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at more than 438 billion VND.

The number of visitors and tourism revenue will increase in the last days of the holiday. The average room occupancy rate in Phu Quoc is over 60%; for 4-5 star hotel occupancy rates are 80-90% during the April 30 holiday.

Nha Trang: Bustling island tour

On May 2, Mr. Tran Van Phu - head of the Nha Trang tourist wharf management department (under the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, Khanh Hoa province) - said that the wharf had welcomed about 8,000 visitors, and was expected to reach about 9,000 visitors by the end of the day.

The total number of tourists taking island tours in Nha Trang Bay during this year's holiday season could reach nearly 30,000, with tourists mainly going to the islands in Nha Trang Bay with locations such as Con Se Tre, Hon Mun, Bai Tranh Island...

In the center of Nha Trang city, some streets such as Tran Phu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai... have experienced temporary traffic jams due to the large number of vehicles on the road.

Central routes recorded tourists flocking to tourist attractions in the city, leading to traffic jams. Many tourist attractions recorded an increase in the number of visitors compared to normal days.

Some other tourist attractions such as Ponagar Tower reached more than 4,500 visitors on April 30 and are gradually increasing during the peak holiday day from May 1.

Some other green tourism and community tourism spots in Nha Trang and neighboring areas such as Truong Son craft village, Orchid Island, Monkey Island, Nha Trang Xua area, Small Village - Lang Nhot Lake, Yang Bay tourist park... also recorded a large number of visitors.

According to Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, the development of highways, convenient transportation, and reasonable prices in Nha Trang compared to other tourist destinations have resulted in a large number of visitors during this year's holiday, especially for domestic tourists traveling independently.

The North has a vibrant holiday from the forest to the sea

According to Tuoi Tre, the North had three exciting holidays from the forest to the sea. In particular, island destinations recorded a sharp increase in the number of visitors compared to the same period in 2024.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh, during the three days of the holiday, the locality welcomed 790,000 tourists. Of which, the total number of overnight guests reached about 327,000. International visitors were estimated at 65,500. Total tourism revenue was estimated at 2,173 billion VND.

The hottest spots include Ha Long City and Ha Long Bay with many activities such as Ha Long Carnival, OCOP fair, beer - squid festival... Besides, other areas such as Co To, Van Don, Mong Cai also recorded good growth in the number of visitors.

Along with Quang Ninh, Hai Phong is also a beach destination attracting a large number of visitors during this holiday with 380,000 visitors from April 30 to May 2, of which Cat Ba welcomed 65,000 visitors and Do Son welcomed 280,000 visitors.

This summer, Hai Phong organizes many activities to attract tourists such as celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and opening the Red Flamboyant Flower Train on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route.

Ms. Hoang Thi Vuong, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Sa Pa town (Lao Cai), said that in the first two days of the holiday, Sa Pa welcomed nearly 58,000 visitors to visit and experience.

Notably, the average room occupancy rate in Sa Pa reached 95%, with 99% on May 1-3. It is expected that during the five days of the holiday, Sa Pa town will welcome about 180,000 visitors. Total revenue from tourism is expected to be about 500 billion VND.

A representative of Sun Group said that on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 this year, the unit recorded a sharp increase in the number of visitors to destinations across the country. The number of visitors to Fansipan (Sa Pa) increased by 15%, Sun World Ha Long increased by 30%, Sun World Ha Nam water park welcomed nearly 13,000 visitors in the first three days of opening...

In particular, the Cat Hai - Phu Long cable car route recorded a four-fold increase in the number of visitors compared to the same period last year in the first three days of the April 30 holiday, showing a clear shift in tourist behavior, prioritizing public transportation instead of waiting hours to take the ferry and take cars to the island.

Mr. Bui Thanh Tu, marketing director of BestPrice, said that this year's peak summer season is expected to be a bustling tourist season. This is a vacation for families, especially families with young children, so resort destinations and islands are still the priority choices.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, during the two peak days of April 30 and May 1, entertainment and tourist areas in Da Nang witnessed a huge number of visitors.

From early morning to noon, a steady stream of cars lined up from the center of Da Nang City to take the cable car to visit the Ba Na Hills tourist area. Tourist attractions such as the Dragon Bridge, both sides of the Han River, Linh Ung Pagoda... also attracted crowds of people to come and enjoy the scenery.

According to Da Nang International Airport, during the holiday, Da Nang welcomed nearly 700 flights, up 16% compared to last year. Of these, 285 were international flights. Da Nang Port also welcomed about 2,000 cruise ship tourists. The number of tourists traveling by rail reached 13,000, up more than 10% compared to the same period last year.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Tourists increased by 33%, hotel occupancy reached 100%

In Vung Tau, according to records on May 2, the number of tourists flocking here is higher than the previous two days. The reason is that on this day there are many interesting and unique sea sports events such as kite festivals and sailing races.

Mr. Vu Hong Thuan, acting director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that as of May 2, more than half a million tourists had come to the province for tourism and relaxation during the first three days of the April 30 holiday. International visitors alone accounted for nearly 16,000 arrivals. This number increased by more than 33% compared to the same period in 2024.

As a result, total tourism revenue from April 30 to May 2 is estimated to reach more than VND412 billion, an increase of nearly 35% compared to 2024. According to accommodation service businesses in the province, room occupancy reached 95-100% during the five days of the holiday.

To welcome and serve tourists on the occasion of the 30-4 holiday, in the past days and the coming days, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has organized and will organize dozens of events with 5 events organized by the province, including: 2 tourism events and 3 sports events. Da Lat City (LAM DONG): Cool weather, clear roads, tourists hanging out

During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, Da Lat City is expected to welcome about 80,000 visitors. However, tourism businesses say that with the number of visitors coming from April 30 to May 2, Da Lat will find it difficult to reach the expected number.

In recent days, Da Lat has received some light rains, but in the center of Da Lat, there has been no traffic jam or congestion. On Nguyen Chi Thanh, Hoang Van Thu, Bui Thi Xuan, 3 Thang 2, 3 Thang 4 streets..., most of the star hotels have signs showing that there are rooms available, and there is no overcrowding.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, there are many reasons for the lack of tourists in Da Lat this year during the holiday. Among them, the current transportation system has changed a lot, so tourists stay shorter and travel to more places.

Therefore, tourist destinations are not too crowded. However, tourism quality has improved with many new tours and new products. In addition, there are many entertainment events for tourists to participate in when coming to Da Lat during the long holiday.

According to Mr. Lam, Quang Ninh has done a good job of ensuring the tourism environment, creating a good image, and always innovating tourism products to please tourists. This year, many new tourism products have been deployed in Bai Tu Long and Van Don bays to reduce the load on Ha Long bay, bringing many new experiences to domestic and foreign tourists.
