The will to overcome difficulties of a poor student

This rented room is where Nguyen Manh Cuong has lived for nearly ten years. His parents separated when he was young, and his father went to work far away, so Cuong had to live alone early. The simple but neat and tidy rented room affirms this student's sense of initiative and independence in life.

Nguyen Manh Cuong, class 11A1, Van Ban District High School No. 1, shared (photo below): “By grade 6, I started living alone. I didn’t find it too difficult, but financially it was a bit difficult because my father’s job didn’t pay much, and sometimes his salary was delayed.”

Having a more special situation than his peers, the spirit of independence and self-discipline in studying is always present in student Nguyen Manh Cuong. Aiming to be in the top of the class, Manh Cuong is always highly aware of absorbing lectures in class and completing all homework when coming home. For 10 consecutive years, he has always achieved the title of excellent student of the school, many times winning prizes in the provincial competition for excellent students in Information Technology and the IOE English Olympic competition.

Student Pham Minh Quan, class 11A1, High School No. 1, Van Ban district said about Cuong: "He is a very good person, always helps his friends and studies very well. He almost always focuses on studying and gets very high scores."

Teacher Bui Thanh Thuy, High School No. 1, Van Ban District said: “She is very conscious of self-study, although she does not have the conditions to be taken care of by her parents right next to her. She is very self-conscious in doing her homework, and does it completely, even with more advanced exercises when the teacher gives them, she can still answer them, this I assess that she has very good self-study ability”.

Cuong is determined to fulfill his dream of becoming a student at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi .

Manh Cuong's dream is to become a student at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Cuong is confident that with his academic ability, he will achieve his goal. The cost of studying will be a big obstacle, but with the will and determination that has been honed and tempered over the years, Manh Cuong is determined to make his dream come true.
