Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan emphasized that the meeting was of great significance, taking place on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) (1990-2025), affirming that the EU is one of Vietnam's leading important partners. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly highly appreciated the dynamic, substantive and comprehensive development of the bilateral relationship in many fields, and thanked the support and contributions of EU initiatives and projects to Vietnam's socio-economic development in recent times.
On that basis, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his hope that the EU would continue to support Vietnam in developing a green economy , promote the ratification of the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to create a new breakthrough in the investment field between the two sides, soon remove the IUU "yellow card" for Vietnam's seafood exports, support the implementation of EU anti-deforestation regulations as well as the process of building the ASEAN Community, and more closely link the ASEAN - EU Action Plans with ASEAN cooperation strategies.

Head of the European Parliament delegation Woute Beke said that Vietnam is an important partner of the EU in the region, emphasizing the effective implementation of the EVFTA in recent times. He said that the agreement is a typical example of negotiations between the EU and other partners, and highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts in combating climate change, combating deforestation and moving towards the goal of net zero emissions. The Head of the European Parliament delegation expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation with the region, not only in the economy but also in other areas through initiatives such as the Global Gateway and the EU's Indo- Pacific Strategy.
To further promote Vietnam-EU relations, the two leaders agreed to promote delegation exchanges at all levels, especially at high levels in this anniversary year, effectively implement the EVFTA, further open each other's markets and strengthen cooperation in the EU's areas of strength such as green transformation, digital transformation, environmental protection, climate change response, science and technology, and innovation.
