On the morning of April 21, thousands of runners successfully completed the competition events at the "Proud of My Fatherland" half-marathon organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
From early morning, many runners were present at the Revolutionary Traditional Area of the General Offensive and Uprising of the Spring of Mau Than 1968 located on The Lu Street, Tan Nhut Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Many famous figures from the sports , arts and social fields such as bodybuilder Pham Van Mach, "speed queen" Le Tu Chinh, "ironman" Tran Dinh Minh Anh, actors Binh Minh, Diep Bao Ngoc... enthusiastically participated.
As runner-up in the 10km distance, Christopher John Ward (British nationality) said he felt lucky and overwhelmed with emotions because everyone in the race was very friendly and the organizers of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper were enthusiastic.
Mr. Christopher John Ward evaluated the running activity as very good, the program was meaningful when runners ran under the flag; at the same time, at the award ceremony, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded 213 scholarships (1 million VND/scholarship) under the "Scholarship Program to support ethnic minority and poor students" managed and operated by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. He returned 5 million VND in prize money and donated an additional 5 million VND to this scholarship program.
Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport (a runner), also commented that this was a very meaningful race on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day and contributed to supporting the newspaper's two humanitarian programs.

"The running route has a fresh environment, so it makes the athletes feel refreshed. Not to mention, running on a track associated with history, witnessing the simplicity of the people in Binh Chanh district makes us very happy. I hope there will be more races like this" - said Mr. Nguyen Van Long.
Witnessing her relative complete the 10km distance, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu (living in Binh Chanh district) said she had come early in the morning. She highly appreciated the 2024 Half Marathon organized by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper.
