(ABO) On April 18, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province held a working session with the Mekong Delta Climate Change Adaptation Project (MCRP) - German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) on research to develop My Tho city into a comprehensive and specialized center.
The working session was chaired by Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu and Mr. Christoph Klinert, Director of MCRP Project, GIZ Organization.

At the meeting, delegates discussed the difficulties and advantages in building the Project to Develop My Tho City into a comprehensive, specialized center of the Eastern coastal sub-region (referred to as the Project). Thereby, the leaders of My Tho City as well as the provincial departments and branches made proposals to MCRP and GIZ such as: Supporting independent, scientific and objective research to help My Tho City implement the planning; supporting funding and experts to implement the sustainable drainage model; solutions for My Tho City to participate in the river and road logistics system with provinces in the region...

Members of MCRP and GIZ also had some opinions such as: The project must ensure connection with provinces and cities in the region to achieve the best results; at the same time, they will be ready to contribute opinions, professional experience and provide technical support with the units.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu thanked MCRP and GIZ for their contributions, and hoped that the organization would continue to support and make positive contributions to Tien Giang province in the future; and assigned My Tho City to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to advise on the establishment of a team to implement the Project and develop an outline for the Project, proposing tasks and technical support from MCRP and GIZ.
